There is always the few that take the medium of communication to extreme levels.Grouchy Imp said:I get that most people will just use Facebook in a casual manner to arrange get-togethers, but (to use the example of co-worker and Facebook addict Jo as an example) some people use it as almost their sole form of social interaction. Jo will sit at her desk all day updating her profile and sending messsages to her friends, but then not meet up with them after she's finished work because as far as she's concerned she's already caught up with them. It's that particular mentality I can't get my head around.dogstile said:I find it funny. The way you phrase it, its like you don't think people use facebook to arrange pub visits XDGrouchy Imp said:Nah, my 'social networking site' is called the pub. Call me old fashioned, but if I want to catch up with my friends I like to sit down and have some face-to-face banter with them. In the words of Dave Gorman: "That's one of the many things you do with friends - meet them."
That having been said, of the other people in my office at the moment, Phil used to be on Facebook but got rid of his account a few years back and Jo is an absolute addict who is online every spare moment she gets.
Or in my case, gig and festival mentionings and asking if anyone wants to go. I've only got people I like on facebook, so it works out.
This is also my point. People always say the same "oh but it lets you get back in touch will old mates" yeah and the reason why I stopped talking to them in the first place was because they were dicks why would I want to talk to people I used to know? If they were good friends they would still be my friends lol.brandon237 said:Do not have.
Do not need.
Do not want.
What? Are you expecting more? The friends of mine who do have it don't use it often, and the rest don't have it and I couldn't care less about random classmates from 2004...
I know but still =/Ham_authority95 said:Again, you don't HAVE to post any more contact info than your freaking first name.Kuchinawa212 said:Nope! I don't plan to get one. I don't want people to be able to quickly search me and find out all that personal info. Kinda scary...
