No, I'm just rebelling against those conformist bastards...

So in order to join my cause, you have to agree with me and do everything I do. :D

You have some seriously fucked up college courses, you know that? Unless you're doing computer science or electronic engineering or something along those lines, the use of the computer in college or university should be absolutely minimal, and should never require something like Facebook to complete. If I were in that situation, I'd be launching an official complaint - considering it a matter of selling out to a commercial enterprise with decidedly shaky standards when it comes to releasing personal information.
I agree!

It also cheeses me off how alot of organizations will actually explore your facebook page in an attempt to decide if they want to hire you or no.

A lot of people do not seem to be aware of this point, and to be honest i think it's completely outrageous that an organization would use a social networking site to make a judgement on a potential employee.

No no. My friend has the same type of course. His is called "Intro to Mass Communications". Pretty much the study of the mass media and communication on a wide spread scale. Facebook would be a perfect example. However, in all my classes, it's pretty much outlawed, so no worries if you think Facebook is taking over the world.

EDIT: Shit wrong person. LOL. I was trying to quote someone else and the loading page bumped me up to you. Sorry, Sonicron. :D

In the minority of no facebook, here.

To be honest I just don't get it. If I want to see what my friends are up to I give them a call, or write them an e-mail. I have a similar befuddlement about Twitter, I know that nobody cares what I'm up to minute-to-minute, so why should I care about them?

While the Facebook part isn't a vital portion or my grade or anything, its a good inclusion I feel. We use it as a sort of forum more than anything, with local businesses also present in discussions. I'm actually taking courses that revolve around marketing in a contemporary setting, so it makes sense. You'd have to be an idiot to not even consider social networking sites when trying to market to a large, tech savvy proportion of the market. Also, its not like my school has been paid off by Facebook to have its students use it for classes. A couple professors are just experimenting with it.

And minimal use of computers?!? You're aware that computers are a vital part of any modern business, right?

Im addicted, but my friends all went to different colleges so its nice to talk to them once in awhile, also, getting homework help over fb is REALLY easy, of course you could MSN whatever they have. But I am morally opposed to AOL in every way shape and form, and that includes MSN with that retarded Ask.com toolbar they snuck in without me knowing.

I have one, but I'm starting to fall out of it. It didn't have the same charm as it did several years ago. The problem is is that I have too many friends now. But not just on facebook, but in real life. Facebook kind of kills my friendship with many people, and as a social tool, all its doing is tying us to our computers more. (Not that that's BAD, but seriously. Who here should get out more often. Show of hands please?) (Raises his own.)

Yes. Now, what happens when you try to do something without computers?

If you've been exposed to technological saturation, you're screwed.
That's why there are concepts in courses as well. At least in the field I'm going into, personal connections are still important, but not utilizing a computer is like a farmer saying "I know I have the combine, but I'll use the scythe anyways."
