I do, like the OP avatar is freaking sweet. Any person with some freaking anime character I just ignore. Normally I find that I disagree with what they have to say.

The one I hate the most? The one with the anime girls boobs bouncing on the dudes head. I hate that guy just that avatar. Well hates a strong word but that is a really stupid avatar and personifies every reason I hate anime as a style of story telling. lol but thats another topic.

So again yes I do

Yeah i do judge others based on their avatars. But what I get out of looking at their avatars doesn't tell me much about who they are, it tells me what they're interested in.

But some avatars are so vague and abstract (or maybe I just don't get the references) that they don't tell me anything. For example, what do you guys think my avatar means about me or my interests?

Here's the reference, if you want to know:
It's a drawing I did of Spike from Space Quest 5 (link: http://www.spacequest.net/sq5/characters/ )

I have a tendency to think anyone with an anime avatar is really young (like 13 or 14). I do this subconsciously. It's not like I'm deciding that anime fans are immature or anything, but I always find myself surprised when someone with such an avatar isn't so young. I don't know why.

Yes, yes I do... In the sense of how I picture them, I mean.

I usually determine how I think of a person based on their posts, not their avatar.

not usualy but there is one guy who has an anti-obama one and I judge him to be a jerk by that, since its suprisingly wordy for an avatar. If youve seen it then you know it.
So "Doesn't Like Obama = Jerk"? I don't think you're really judging it for its "wordiness".

I don't normally, although pentagrams make me cringe.

I assume that people with female avatars are girls a lot of the time. Don't know why. Its not like when I see someone with a tank avatar I think "Geese, that tank can write?"

Funny little quirk I guess.

I judge people by their avatars more in games than on forums. It's easier to judge people when they have an opinion stated straight out or something, but generally I just use it to recognize them.

Forums are usually more like a conversation, whereas when I 'm immersed in games, their avatar sort of becomes them in my mind, so it's harder to picture them as an actual person in front of a screen.

Your avatar is probably my favorite. XD

And it probably affects my view of you more than it does with others, since "The Road to El Dorado" continues to be one of my favorite movies.

So I guess sometimes it depends on the situation.

So is it reasonable to say I don't feel the need to have a mystery behind my opinion on the escapist by displaying an avatar of myself? (I do have other avatars for other forums/sites) o_O

It takes a while to get out of this. I instantly didn't like Pimpeteer2 because of his avatar, and instantly thought Souplex was fucking awesome. I try not to do this because both things are toxic to the environment here.
those two are both cool in my book.

The more thought people put into their avatars, the better, since in that little array of pixels can be found insight into what that person likes and how they view themselves.

I don't like it when people often change their avatar. It confuses me.

Also I tend to judge people with anime avatars, because I severely dislike anime and Japanese culture in general.

The only things your avatar shows me

-is a bit of your personality.
-It gives me a small hint of what you like.
-It can show something you think.

Those are all first impressions which are non-avoidable. To answer your question: Yes, but because I don't really have a choice.

However, I do keep in mind that people can suprise me and there's more to it. I would take Neonbob as an example. His avatar says "Nuke the whales". However, I know that he isn't that blood thirsty since I had some time to know him a little.
Your avatar confuses the hell out of me.

I can't help it, I often do it.

For example, I disliked IdealistCommi and Furburt when I first started running into them simply because of their avatars. (Commies was the Peter Griffin one and Furburts was the first one he had). Don't know why, but I do do it. Can't help myself.

That's not to say I can't go back against that opinion easily.

If there's anyone else out their like me, I'd like to hear your thoughts about me. :p
Is that...the monopoly guy? Or the Penguin? I can't tell.
OP: I don't judge on avatar appearance, just like I don't judge based on real life appearance(unless they're black). I judge by the quality of their diction and the thoughtfulness of their responses and get to know them and judge them after that.

It's ironic that you didn't understood me after my post. You should rename yourself Irony Man.
