I guess the thing that bugs me is that I just don't know how some user manage to have the time (or the speed) to post that much. I just hope that the really high post count comes from having free time and not internet addiction. I lost two friends because of that, hope this forum doesn't take too much space for some user.
Personally, I've pretty much got all the free time in the world right now, and I generally fill it up with playing games, writing, playing my guitar, and surfing the web, and since I've got two laptops I can pretty much be on the Escapist whenever I want, even in the middle of a gaming session. This is generally the only website I frequent on a normal basis though, outside of checking two or three specific Youtube channels for video updates.

Also I always wanted to say that your avatar is super cute :)
And thank you. I've been contemplating switching to another Kyary gif, but I can't decide on one.

I don't usually judge by post count, unless it's really low, but I do tend to judge by how long a user has been around. If they joined the community really recently, I kinda just assume that they don't know the community as well. It's not a mean thing, just more of an understanding thing.

Meh, not really. I only judge people on whether or not their opinions are the same as mine. :D

At the end of the day, post count only represents the total amount of free time you have to hang around on the forums.

I'm not addicted!

I can stop any time I want. I swear!
For god's sake, man, you average 66 posts a day! I don't think you can stop as easily as you say.

Yes.

I take the Sine of the Square Root of the largest Prime Divisor of the total number of posts.

If it's positive the poster is right. If it's above 0.9 he's a freaking genius.
If it's negative the poster is wrong. If it's below -0.9 he's a freaking idiot.

Which incidentally means that this post is currently near genius level with a 0.80966635472. This will however fluctuate as I make more posts. But right now my system is clearly the system to use.
Mine is 0.18. Am I cool? :D

I always picture post count as an energy level, so that if they were to fight IRL, the larger one would win... Not saying that it's the same case for opinions, just something I do... DON'T JUDGE

I try not to, I swear <.<

Considering the post count I've accumulated simply by being in ponychat all the time, no. A better indicator of worth is whether they have the Trinity/Morpheus/Neo badge or not.

Yes, Clearly if they joined after me but have 10k post or something they are a chuntering ape no more being worthy of listened to than a talk radio DJ.
Does joining two months after you and having over 7K count? Because you've actually got a pretty low post count. [sub][sub][sub][sub]I've never seen you before, and I recognize just about all of the regulars around here[/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]

OT: I don't usually even notice it. About the only time it affects my opinion of what someone is saying is if either A.) they've been here for four or five years but have a tiny post count and are talking about the community here like they're some sort of authority on it, or B.) use their first post to advertise something.

I'll also kind of pay attention to it if someone makes some sort of blunder or shows some sort of ignorance about the forums here. I've been known to PM obviously new members about punishable things in their posts, to give them a chance to edit it before one of the mods sees it, although I haven't had a reason to do it in a while. Then again, the mods seem to have cooled down a lot in the last year or so. I haven't seen anywhere near as many people getting in trouble for minor things as I used to, although it still happens periodically.

You know, it's funny.

I was trying to think of examples of people who joined after I did, and have more posts than me, but I can't think of any.

I guess it's possible there might be someone, hiding in a group somewhere, that I don't know about...
XD I think you'd have to find someone addicted to both usergroups and forum games to get anything near that level. Of my 7000, maybe 50 came from the usergroups, and most of those were administrative groups like the tech team and the moderators group, not social groups. I seem to be unusual in that among people with more than 1000 posts, though.

I'm actually coming up blank on people with more posts than you who didn't join before /me/, though, let alone you. Neonbob and Vaudevillian Veteran are the only two with post counts that big that come to mind, and they've both been around for /ages./

To some extent sure, I look more at how long they've been around for as opposed to post count but I look more at grammar/punctuation than anything else.
That said I don't really make a judgement until I read the post
I really like reading walls of text though, generally doesn't matter who posts them as long as its readable (IE not 1 giant sentence or paragraph)
