What's sad is that I can only remember the last 4 digits, but I can remember all 12 digits of my school id number.

I used it quite a lot when I applied to college and memorized it in the process.

This...post accurately reflects my own experiences.

I don't like how easy to memorize my SSN is. I also have the first bit of numbers of my driver's license memorized, from hearing my dad repeat his license number for various things.

Yeah, I'm confused too. It can't be something to help people in need, the US is strongly against that sort of thing.

I have it written down on a card somewhere at home, but as to where I have absolutely no idea. I've only ever had to use it once for applying for the Pell Grant, that was it.
