I enjoy the singleplayer much more than I do the multiplayer because of the differences in the enemies and the strategies used to fight them. I really wish they had included AI in the multiplayer, that would've made it so much more playable.

Halo 3 isn't really a bad game. I just don't think its very good. I loved Halo, the campaign was great, the multiplayer was fun (and only got more fun once I found Halo: custom edition) but Halo 3 really isn't any better than the first game. Sure the graphics are improved, but the campaign is not as fun, and the multiplayer seems the same. At least in the first one I can get more than 16 players playing, and some of the maps for it are still better (Death Island is still probably my favorite map. and there are a bunch others that I think are better than whats on Halo 3) I do like some of the features Halo 3 has, that most console games don't, including forge, but It just isn't that great, considering I could actually make maps for the first one, rather than buying new ones, when I got bored of the default maps.

Granted, thats just my opinion.

I just played through it yesterday with a friend, its short, the cutscences are boring, it felt very unoriginal, the stuff they added no one would notice if they were gone. Multiplayer sucks, I preffer more tactic in my multiplayer games, not just run around shooting everything shaped unlike yourself.

I actually found the Halo series to get better progressively, and the advances in AI meant that somehow the enemy and ally soldiers in Halo 3, and even Halo 2, were much better than in the original Halo. In the first game, my allies would die pretty instantly (even on the easy difficulty levels), while on Halo 3 they are much better and do a decent job as soldiers. I actually get proper covering fire when I need it and usually finish with the same number of soldiers as I started with, or only a few casualties on Elite and Hardcore. I just don't see why Halo 3 gets so much stick, especially when many of those on the hatewagon have previously expressed their love for Halo Combat Evolved (and yes, that's even true on these forums, I've noticed).

I LIKE halo 3, make no mistake, but halo 3 is bupkisss in comparison to oh say... the Original Halo, and can't even hold a candle (in my opinion) to half life in general... but that's just me, a Good game, but nothing worth fawning over... I think most people who "hate" or "loath" it, are just venting over how it wasn't all they expected it to be. I enjoyed it, as well as halo 2, but the only one I'd buy would be no1.
