I'm an 18yo NEET waiting to see if I'm going to go to uni, or continue being a NEET. Life is good.

Started in a massive toy shop this week. The people I work with are fucking brilliant, the pay isn't bad. Unfortunately the hours are long and I have to deal with snotty kids and their smothering parents.
You think that's bad? I work on the kids section of a shoe/trainer/sports shop, I have to deal with those kind of parents and kids, AND the kind of parent that would happily stab me in the face and loot the whole damn store. I got spat at the other day. And my pay is shocking.

I love my current job. I am a sales assistant at a car dealer.I do the manual labor the sales force can't do lest they dirty their prissy little shirts. This involves mostly cruising between the showroom and their reconditioner subsidiary (not entirely sure that's the word I'm looking for) in brand-spanking new cars. Sure there's some heavy lifting and the pay is just enough to get by but on the other hand, the colleagues are cool and the forementioned perk is a treat.

my dad did it his whole life, and i swore i'd never get into it.....i work for a paving company, we lay asphalt thats 325+ degrees in the 100+degrees summer...its not so bad in the winter, while yes its a job i honestly can say a lot of people couldnt handle, to me? i love it, and its deffinatly not the worst job i ever had. As much as i tried to avoid doing it my whole life, i guess were just bound by blood sometimes. I've only been in the business for 5 years, but if you didnt know any better you'd think i was doing it for a lot longer

on a side note, remember all those times when you were a kid and wanted to run heavy equipment, well i'm a kid at heart (even though i'm 34) and i now get to run heavy equipment

As a straight A grade, 18 year old student living in the UK... I have no job, because the system is too busy employing people who completely failed school and skipped college to make them feel 'equal to the people who succeeded in education.'

I so badly need a job...

Given that I'm 17, I' still working my Saturday job as a lifeguard at the local pool.
And it's bloody awesome.
When on poolside, you just need to watch the swimmers to make sure no-one drowns. Dull, but not difficult.
When not on poolside, I'm either on the front desk, at which I deal with customers and read, or you do jobs like polishing the windows.
The only downside is when something bad happens, like a spinal, or a drowning. Thankfully, never happened to me.
The only downside is that I occasionally get a shift to start work at 6:45, but I need next to no sleep, so YAY!

Well... eh, i don't like working as a whole.

My new job i have been doing for under a month now. So far it's ok, i guess. Bad salary and i have to work the whole time (can't, you know play games or read a book or something). But it is easy, but complex work, low stress and the time goes fast.

What is it? I am doing first-level support for a telecomunication/ISP provider. Just 30-50 calls a day and i am done (depending on how long the calls are). Quite a few people are pretty angry, insulting, stupid etc. though. Makes it sometimes a bit annoying.

I remember doing shifts like that when i was a Fitness Instructor, early shifts... not cool, especially when the place opens at 6:00am... plus side was there was next to no Lifeguarding, I lived like 5 mins away and aaaall the coffee i could drink. I loved that job, minus the occasional little brat thinking he was 'hard', throwing around weights and posing... ugh
