Those would be Ozzy and Dio I guess.Shoggoth2588 said:Black Sabbath (both vocalists)
So you're talking about the Bieber-esque (First guy I could think of, sorry to name drop the guy in a metal thread) type of voice, not the use of head voice and falsetto used by guys like Halford? The Apple BOOM said:I thought this would come up. I guess I wasn't clear. I mean the youthful male high voice. It's a distinct thing, at least to me. I hear it a lot in modern music and just don't like it at all. While Rob Halford is both male and high pitched, it's a MUCH different style. I hope you get what I mean.BathorysGraveland2 said:I just got to ask you here. I know you aren't well versed in genres and things, but I'm curious. You say you like Judas Priest. Yet the bands vocalist, Rob Halford, is famous for having some of the highest vocals in music, period. In their classic song, "Victim of Changes", towards the end, he does one of the more notable screams in Judas Priest's discography. The way you say you don't like "high voices" after listing Judas Priest as a band you like just interests me, is all.The Apple BOOM said:I decidedly don't like high voices.

Yeah, but try telling that to all of the elitists who are overly concerned with genre labeling as if it actually matters somehow. Like your second and third paragraphs say, there are far too many people who will say bands don't count as "real" metal because reasons, and it's entirely too obnoxious for me to want to deal with.AnarchistFish said:Metalcore is much more metal and punk now anyway.shrekfan246 said:The reason I don't identify myself as a "metalhead" or anything is because most of the 'purists' will scoff you away if you so much as mention metalcore or post-hardcore because "They're more punk than metal" and they're my two favorite sub-genres as well.Elfgore said:My favorites genres are metalcore, post hardcore,
