Of course I love my family, my immediate family that is. The enlarged one is kind of a different matter, but onlyt on my father's side.

Unlike some people, I don't feel the need to share my life story with anonymous fools.

It is as if morons feel that they have two choices: "share my messed up life with as many people as possible, or do something to improve my situation." Do your love your family...oh, yeah, that's really the sort of thing I'm going to share with YOU.

I ate my family. FO REAL.

Fool! GTFO of my perfect world.
Wow, you come off as an introverted bastard who hates everyone around him. Good way to start off your Escapist career.

I don't believe love as being a "sometimes" thing. Rather, I just have times were I don't like my family as people. But even then I love them since they're family. Family's nice too cause you can be more blunt and angry with them without having to be less like yourself since they understand you better anyway.

This is because I am highly skilled at conveying complicated ideas. Even people like you, with "escapist careers," can understand me perfectly.

Not really. I've never met my actual family, and I'm very glad I'm not related to my adopted family.

Which doesn't mean I'm not going to take them for all their worth.

Yes, you are. It's implicit.

As in, not "by the way, do you love your family? This isn't coming from anywhere, by the way, just asking for no real reason because this is the sort of thing you ask people that you don't know for the sake of conversation."

But don't worry, because I understand.

I've got 1 sister, 1 brother, 2 parents, 3 grand-parents, 8 uncles, 8 aunts and 21 cousins.

Love 'em all!

Sure, the uncles 'n aunts have an occasional quarrel, but no family is perfect.
Everyone is still keeping lots of contact and I'm on good terms with all of 'em.

Don't really care you all know this, it's a good thing and this thread is in need of something good.

Besides, I'm just as anonymous as anyone else.

i love my parents, my two grandparents and some of my cousins

the reason i dislike the rest of my mum's side of the family is that they do nothing for my grandparents (who are both in their 70's now) and make far too many demands of them; my aunty even tricked them into buying her house to get her out of a bad investment, and now they can't sell it. she also unloads her four kids on them at least three or four time per week. my other aunty is just spoilt rotten and quite unpleasant.

my dad's side of the family i haven't seen in years

oh,and my sister drinks every night and does coke... she's 15.

so aside from my parents, grandparents and my one good cousin, i barely even like any of them let alone really love them (although i do feel bad about bitching about my aunties like this, because they all speak very highly of me apparently)

Yep, love my family to bits. Sometimes they annoy me (especially my little brother) but love them anyway, they're family after all. Plus we have a new addition now with my third nephew born two weeks ago =D

Sometimes it feels like my family doesn't love me, but I've always been the outcast of sorts. For example, when my dad left, everyone in my family hated him while I tried to talk to him, spend time with him, and keep him nearby.

And then they complained when he gave me money and not them.

Hell, sometimes he would even give me extra and tell me to give some to them. I didn't think they deserved it, but it was his money and his gift to them, so I did. They accepted it, but still continued their hate-mongering.

They also enjoy leaving me out of issues that are very relevant to my life, only informing me minutes before it's about to affect me, literally.

"Hey, we're going to *insert place/activity here* today."

"Alright, what time?"

"As soon as you're done getting ready."

"WTF?"

...I wish I was joking. My family is difficult to love, and then don't enjoy my degree of honesty, so I only love them sometimes.

My family isn't a collective whole. They're individuals with their own thoughts and personalities.

How am I meant to answer the question when it is inherently flawed?

How is the question inherently flawed, to love your family you must love each individual with their own thoughts and personalities. Do you?

I for one do. A lot.
Pretty much the only thing I do love is my family.

Err...yeah? Depends on your definition of love, I like the fact that they support me with food, shelter, and money. End statement.

My family is horribly ignorant, to the point of constant face palmage.

But they raised me really well and I'm not half as ignorant as them... its really quite weird. For example, my little sister criticizes my time spent on video games/my computer as a waste of my life, whereas she spends just as long if not longer watching tv.

Now I'm not saying games are better than tv in terms of 'life experience' but I mean, I talk to my girlfriend on my computer, and I make connections and learn things. You can learn from tv too but you also get 8 minutes of adverts with every 22 minutes of program, and its a completely passive activity. Basically you know that ignorant attitude some people have towards games where they think they're just complete drivel and a gigantic waste of time? Now just extrapolate that view of games to music that is not mainstream and you have a good idea of what my family is like. Its so frustrating, I just want to rage so hard at them sometimes but at the same time I almost can't because its not their fault entirely... the media is basically controlling them, or they choose to believe in it either way its... complicated...

No.
But that applies to everyone so...don't know what point I'm trying to make.

Of course. My parents raised me out of the goodness of their hearts and my sister is awesome.
