That's always hard to say. Honestly, I would say Japan is more of a home to me (in which case I should have voted "I love it" instead of "I like it", I guess) but in the states, people don't treat me like a foreigner (which, ironically makes me feel uncomfortable).
I don't know, but when facing questions like this I usually revert to saying the U.S. is my home country since that's the one I can vote in. :/
hiya! apologies for butting in, but I was reading this thread and got curious.
If you don't mind my asking, what is your ethnicity? Because I'm kind of getting the impression that you're white, or at least partially white? You got me curious, because most non-Japanese people here (I'm in Japan right now) are, you know, people who are here to teach or to study or whatever else (like me), so our experiences are fairly similar. But I'm assuming you've done all of your schooling here and were raised bilingual (to which I just have to say you're so lucky, because us monolingual peasants struggle with learning Japanese like woah). What's it like going through all of your schooling in Japan as a gaijin? I realise I'm being incredibly nosy, but your circumstances are quite unique, as I'm sure you know.
Err, yes, as for me, I love Australia, intensely, and lately I've been finding myself loving it more and more and wanting to go back, set up home there, all the rest. I've not lived there for nearly three years, and I suppose absence makes the heart grow fonder. I will say however that our government seems (I'm not living there, so I can't talk as though I've experienced it for myself) to be sucking hardcore right now, which is a real bummer. Bring back the Howard days?

I definitely hate it here! And I live in the US. I plan to move to the UK here in a short few years. :3
dude the UK is not much better the bureaucracies are absurd. My father is from the UK he says the cost of living is ridiculous the weather isn't that nice and the government will rob you with these ridiculous taxes. Australia is probably a lot better, their economy is good and they have very nice beaches.
Mmmm... if beaches can sell you a country. It's hot as buggery there though, it's constantly in drought, our government at present kind of blows (although compared to the UK, even stevens perhaps)
Yeah, the British economy does suck, I'll grant you that. But I'd say to people considering moving to Australia that they should seriously think about it. If nice beaches sell a country to you, fine. But it's hot as buggery there, we're constantly in drought, we're far away from everywhere, we're a different hemisphere (which is actually a more dramatic thing than it sounds. I hate the way the Northern Hemisphere works. Christmas is supposed to be hot, dammit), and this is a gaming website... australian releases suck.
I love my country, but if it wasn't my country I'd be a bit hesitant about it, I think.
