I have a fair amount of different genres being in my music library. 80's rock, hip-hop(80's and modern stuff, not gangster rap though), some indie, classical, and a little jazz.

Also, tell your brother he's an idiot, then make him listen to Think About or Mood Swing, then tell him that is what hip-hop is supposed to sound like.

I'll listen to a lot of stuff, and i'd like to think that the music that i dont like is because i dont like the band/artist, not the genre.

though 80% of what i listen to is hardcore punk and metal

The only genres I ever listen to are classical, some classic rock on occasion, and metal.
Since metal is such giant genre, I'll list my favorite subgenres.
-Death
-Grind
-Black
-Thrash
-Melodic
-Gothic

I usually stick to Rock or some variation thereof. As of the last few years, my choices have been mostly Metal.
So I suppose I'm under a banner of sorts.

Also rock and alternative.

Music: I will listen to anything I like. That said, the vast majority of what I like is Rock and Metal. Vague, I know; but I can't pin down a specific style of Rock. The Metal, though, is clustered mostly in Melodic Death.

Games: I mostly play FPS. I realized just the other day that I don't have but a few games that don't involve killing things with guns, swords, or even bigger guns.

I like classical, blues, jazz, rock, metal, soul, funk, hip hop, ska, reggae, electro and some other electronic genres.

I have eclectic tastes and don't write off any genre. I believe there is no such thing as a bad genre, only bad artists.

He's a loser. Now I wont comment more on Rap since when I do, people get defensive.
Besides that though, I try to have a wide range of music taste, but I favor alternative rock, which is pretty general a genre. Really, I like bands that when you hear their stuff, you KNOW its them, even if you JUST heard that song for the first time. However I also am much into metal, but the bands people know, not the ones only hardcore metal fans know or understand. Also I like alot from before my time, ie music of our parents.

I love lots of different genres, but I suppose if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the enormously vague genre of rock. Mostly alt, classic, etc. If you need a point of reference, the Foo Fighters are my favorite band (I know! Crazy, right?).

I have a few genres I dislike, but I believe in giving every genre a fair shot before I decide whether I like it or not.

I mostly go with comedy, but my favs. are more fan based. Like say I liked a videgame, I probably going to like the music on it. So no Genre Banner for me, just any videogame or webshow (like the Unforgoten realms theme song) i like at the time.

I went for down with genres. For me, if it's good, I like it. I do listen more to rock but I like to poke my head through the doors of other genres. But mainly, I prefer songs that stick out, meaning they're very different than traditional songs but in a good way.

I'll listen to anything, but have a few genres I play more often than others (metal and rock). The only genres I won't buy or play are rap/hip-hop and country, but I don't die of horror when my friends want to listen to them. Otherwise, I think I have a bit of everything in my iTunes library.

Although I admittely went through that I AM INTO ROCK AAARGGH phase when I was a nipper, I've happily since grown out of that by a long shot!

I like ALOT of styles. Metal, industrial, country, classical, opera, world music, pop, a bit of dance (prodigy, etc). I even like a bit of heavy rap like some of Xibit's stuff. End of the day if it gets me tapping my foot then I'll listen to it.

I do have a friend who, at home when nobody can see listens to a bit of Pink, a bit of Anastacia and some cheesy retro but in the car or when anyone asks her she is into METAL and only METAL because all other music does not exist. She purposely names these obscure European bands that she cough pleghm down a mic for 10 songs per album because she thinks it makes her look cool. Le sigh.

Bands: A bit of everything but probably settling in rock.
Games: I tend to find myself under the wide umbrella term of 'action'.
