Poll: Do You March Under A Genre Banner?

My favorite genres (prepare for the feeling of your socks rocketing off your feet, blasting through your wall and strangling a cat 2 1/2 miles away), by extreme contrast, are heavy metal and Jpop. That's right. I'll have one song growling about zombies tearing a hapless individual apart and then another song about high school-ish romance. But I'm very open to all genres of music and I believe a song should be judged by its individual quality and not by the group it was born into (kind of like people).

My favorite game genres are FPS's and RPGs. I can't stand most puzzle games, I find them frustrating and unentertaining.

I listen to rap for the most part, particularly old school or East Coast stuff.

I primarily listen to Hard Rock, but I also like some songs of other genres.

Also, I'm one of the hybrid abominations when it comes to gaming: RTS and RPG, preferably mashed into one (Sacrifice, Spellforce, maybe even Overlord though that's more of an Action Adventure) or RPG and FPS (Arx Fatalis, System Shock 2, Deus Ex)...

I generally stick to metal but I'll listen to songs from almost anything.
(I dislike rap and teen pop)

Teen pop makes me want to vomit. It's a forced, artificial product and I don't even know if I can call it art.

I judge my music on the artist, generally, and the song , specifically. Genre rarely enters into it.

While I most often listen to some kind of metal or classic rock, I also enjoy other genres like Jazz,Blues,Indie rock,Ska, and probably a few others I can't think of.
