Well considering I have asperger's syndrome and ADD. I have a little to no social life. I have a boyfriend now but relationships are not the easiest for me

I myself am a guy, and actually no longer fit the generic description of a male gamer.

Onto the actual topic at hand; female gamers. I know several of them and a lot of them fit the stereotype quite well. Socially awkward, neurotic, introvertial, either not bothered or not successful on the relationship front. Very few friends they socialize with outside of college or work.
Huh, although this thread didn't quite accomplish enough(or at least half of what I wanted it to realise), so I can have my data, I'm amazed that the "gamer stereotype"(I'm referring here from the social perspective) isn't a label that can be put just on men.
At least all my misconceptions about gamer girls, have been shattered.

Oh and for the record I'm a 20 something student who's currently back home due to redundancy. Though I have been laid. I think if I hadn't by now I'd be playing World of Warcraft ;-)
Dude, for a second there you sounded just like my best friend how was studying abroad. The Wow reference, the writing style + the social analysis.
Oh, and did I mention I see my BF as a really wise guy, and as a mentor(even tough he's not all-knowing and has many flaws for a 23-year old, I see him as a superior man to say the least)
My mind almost got blown away for a second there.

I'm channelling your friend, that is the only possible explanation. Either that of they are obviously as much of a genius as I am :-D

Hey now, don't go throwing the "M" word around there...at the very most you should whisper the "man" word...One of my saddest days ever was when there was this little kid messing and shouting at the bus stop and his mam said "Stop annoying that nice man..." is that what the world has come to...? I used to be a "youth" I struck fear into the hearts of pensioners with my hoodie...and then I wake up one day and I'm a man...

I'm weird and game-obsessed but me and my weird, game-obsessed boyfriend found each other. There's someone for everyone.
Precisely :)

I'm not the typical gamer girl, nor is he the typical gamer guy. But we're both pretty gaming obsessed, and we were lucky enough to find each other and realize how well it works for us to be together.

So short answer yes, with a but.

If you have a job you should meet people, or go to school. I don't do much social crap because I don't like it but I have no trouble with girls. I'm an introvert and have a few close friends, but I spend most of my time doing things whether it be gym, games, school, or work and meet girls there. I live in a rural area atm so I'm bored and none of my friends are here but when I go back to the city soon I'll be introvert but b/c of work/school/church I'll meet girls. Ugh this has been the boringest 6months of my life... need city... its funny I dont give a crap about hanging out but I still like the city.

Well, myself and my boyfriend study complimentary courses at TAFE (he's a programmer, I'm an animator), we live together, and our spare time is spent gaming together.

I miss him when he's away from me.

Oh, I've turned into a pathetic half-life shadow of a human, haven't I? It's a good thing I like it... :p

That's a pretty big and rubbishy 'but'.

As for me, I've been with someone for nearly 4 years now, and we're happily living and working together, despite the occasional squabble, his sleep disorders, and my occasional bouts of insane paranoia that things are going just a little bit too well, and everything's about to come crashing down around my ears. Bleargh. Must think positive.

I'm thinking there's a sit-com here somewhere.

We have met in person, I should clarify. And we were just as happy then as we were when we were just talking online. :) He's something pretty amazing.

Female. You need more Poll options please. Maybe one that says "I'm alone but I don't want to be with anyone right now. I'm happy by myself." ',:/

Seriously, I don't get this new agey thing where everyone needs to have someone \o/ You kids are crazy.

And get off my lawn D:<
Male and couldn't agree with this sentiment more. I'm fine on my own and couldn't care less if someone decided to accompany me in life.

Also, gift for you:

"Guy"
I like being alone because then I have some cash to spend on my self but not on the girl or guy or dog....
Because lets face it many many many girlfriends can be really expensive...

Naah just kidding I'm happy being alone and I'm 16 I really don't get it why people want to get gf/bf a dog.
