And this is where we need to discuss your strawman...one of a couple, really, but we'll stick to this one. I said that self-defined gamers often game for several hours a day. Several being defined as "more than two, but not many". You've taken that and gone straight to "shut-in" and "8 hours a day". That's quite a deductive leap.
If you mean a couple or a few, say a couple or a few. Several almost always suggests maybe five or more. That's why we have words like "couple" and "few".

sev·er·al
[sev-er-uhl, sev-ruhl]
adjective
1. being more than two but fewer than many in number or kind: several ways of doing it.
You're right, it IS a good thing we have different words that have different definitions. Where, in this definition, do you see 'more than 8'?

I'm assuming you mean locally or with someone you already you know. Yes I play games with girls (of varying romantic interest). Not so much recently, but not being very social and being out of school will do that.

The last time I played a game with a girl I knew, was... a few weeks ago at a Dave & Busters. Time Crisis 4 I think it was. Before that was... Portal 2 co-op probably.

The amount of dudes I play with isn't much higher than that, though, so... whatever that means.

It's hard to say considering how few girls actually use a mic while playing. I've had a few girls on my friends list over the years, but only a few.(I think I have two girls on my friends list at the moment)

Well, the only game I play online is M&B: Warband. The AUS community is pretty small, but there are a few females that play regularly. Besides that, nah.

Yes, my wife. To a lesser extent her sister and most of my nieces too, my 12 year old niece is the queen of motorstorm and any other racing game we play. I have a few female friends who also play games, mostly on ps3 nowadays. My mother (who is over 60) will play puzzle type video games and katamari. Now that I think about it I think it's very unlikely that people with names like PurpleWizardGirl are men on steam and psn especially after hearing them mic'd.

There should be a two part question
Do you play games with any girls?
how many women do you know that well?

Yeah I do. Well, regularly as far as me playing with others goes. I'm better than my ex at every game we play, but my drinking buddy can run rings around me on loads. It's quite funny, sometimes we can get her husband to go on beer runs while she destroys me.

Hoo boy, do I have a complicated answer to this particular query.
1. Yes. One of my close friends is a gamer.
2. Yes-ish-ish. I will be one eventually.

I am female, I play videogames (arguably way too much) and I would prefer not to be referred to as a "girl". I'm a few days short of 23, if anything, I'm a woman.

My sister also plays, though not to the same extent, and she limits herself to only a few games. I wish I could get her to play Mortal Kombat or Pokémon with me, but that's just never going to happen.

Also people need to stop acting like female gamers are bloody unicorns. They're really not that rare or magical, though I guess they do only show themselves to virgins.
<color=white>I REALLY FUCKING HOPE YOU CAN TELL THAT WAS A (BAD) JOKE, THERE IS NO NEED TO INFORM ME OF YOUR SEXUAL PROWESS.

No all girls I know don't have much of an interest in games and even when they do feel like playing they don't play with me even though I've asked them on multiple occasions.

Nope, I don't play games with anybody really. The only games I have played really with other people are Smash Bros. and... that's about it actually, and no, it's not like I don't play with them purposefully, I just haven't ever had any female friends that I regularly visited outside of school, ever, which is kind of sad. I'm not going to go on about all that forever alone crap, but I feel like I am somehow limiting myself subconsciously in who I visit or invite, and most girls that I am friends with I still never really meet with outside of school.

Occasionally I'll scrim against a girl team in gears, but all of the female teams just tend to simply not be as good as the males.

I'm a girl, but I just realized I only game with guys. None of my girl friends even touch games unless it's on their phone or something.

A female friend recently got me into League of legends and has been carrying my ass through games.

Also my sisters and a few of my other close female friends play games.....it's really not that unusual : \

Yes, one of my good friends also plays a large portion of the games I play.
Also, my girlfriend has a nack for gaming... though sticking to more casual stuff like Portal or LA Noire.

My wife is a puzzle gamer. Very devoted puzzle gamer. She murders my high scores. I set them and am happy about the result. Couple days later I login and my NAME is off the list. She plays until I am not even on the top ten. I finally gave up. I am not that good a puzzle gamer.

She laughs when I yell at Dark Souls, she will come through and ask, "How many times have you died?".
