Plenty. Most the people I play with regularly are girls, to be fair.
My gf plays WoW (In the same raiding guild), TF2, Borderlands, and a few others. Games I don't actually play with her are her single player games. Fable, Arkham Asylum, Alice Madness Returns, among others.
On the topic of WoW - currently in a guild that has mostly girls and women. Some guys are in it, but the 'omg girl guild DO WANT' perverts are generally avoided.
Another girl that I play a lot of bullet hells with. Recently picked up Death Smiles, which allows some good co-op. Lulz were had.
My sister is, next to me, the best Dead or Alive player in the circle of people we know. We both thoroughly enjoy beating up our friends five at a time.
There's another small handfull, varying from MMOs, casual games, RPGs, etc. etc. Ages vary from 15 to 48.
Obviously, there's plenty of girls and women into gaming. Do they like to stand out for it? Some do. I know a few others that actually pretend to be males online to AVOID this sort of unnecessary attention. On one extreme end of this story we have the people that beg for the attention of females they find online because it's all they know to do, and on the far other end we have a large part of the world that still believes gaming is 'exclusively' for people that fail on a social level. (And well, that can't ever be women, now can they.) There's tons of people in between that don't see either of this as an issue, but sadly it's always the people on one extreme side of a story that manage to get all the attention because... Well, they're generally just silly. If some people would just take some time to see how outdated their ideas are, perhaps women wouldn't have to deal with all the associated nonsense.
TL,DR: Yes, plenty, and a lot of them wished they'd stop getting extra attention because they're women.
