I preffer the elder scrolls leveling system... The only thing that irritates me is that longtime fans usualy like it and such... while it's newcomers that keep whining about it... now we'll suffer for them. :(

On one hand I like the whole "you earn what you earn" with Oblivion, but on the otherhand I do like how you can spend points on skill that you need but can't really use very often ala lockpicking or science in Fallout

EDIT It was also very annoying in Oblivion having to cast the same spell 80 bajillion times to get to Journeyman skill of mysticism or illusion

I liked oblivions because to get better with the bow and arrow you had to use the bow and arrow, whereas in fallout you could walk into a room and clear it out using a laser pistol and the use you points to get better at small guns. It doesn't really make sense with fallouts one, I'm not saying fallout's is bad but I do prefer oblivion's leveling up system.

I prefer the fallout method, in Oblivion it´s annoyingly hard to make a character the way you want (in Oblivion and if you want to have a high level in a certain skill, it might even counterintuitively be more efficient to keep it as a minor skill)
