a real idiot i knew, once openly exclamed "i hate reading" needless to say i was torn between humour and pity so much that i couldnt even bring myself to laugh at or insult him, but it got me thinking, just how many people, actually read?

I read on most days. Granted I've been reading less because of Steam's epic summer sale.

Not sure if I should be angry or glad.

Angry because its left me poor and cutting into my reading, or happy because I have many fun games now.

I like to read sometimes. I am going to read the dark tower series tomorrow in fact.

Often, for both religious reasons and the fact that I loves me some reading.

I try to read a chapter or two every day.
That may not seem like a lot, but depending on what book it is, the chapters can pretty long.

Yes, I do read, frequently. Still waiting for my library books to arrive.

I don't enjoy fiction novels all that much, I read, but rarely read novels.

I'm always reading, only problem is it takes me weeks to finish a single book because I have ADHD (seriously, not just as a lame excuse) and I'm a slow reader
Right now I'm reading Philip Pullman's 'The Good Man Jesus And The Scoundrel Christ' nearly finished it, then I'll move onto some Dean Koontz, my favourite horror/suspense writer

Forums, blogs, TV Tropes. I read tons. I would say that most people read more than their parents did. I find it hard to even feed myself without having to read something.

I read a lot, but mostly internet stuff. News sites, movie news, escapist, facebook and a few other sites that like to update frequently.
I've only ever read a single book in my life. It wasn't a terrible experience but I get into these reading-trances where I become blind to the actual words and enter a meditative state where I imagine what's going on and see what's happening like a movie. Then I space-in and re-read everything just to make sure I wasn't pretending things were happening that weren't.
Frankly, I don't like it.

No, I don't. At least, not usually. I have a very low attention span and I get bored with most books unless they're amusing. Come to think of it, this only started developing recently. I used to read every day before going to bed, but that petered out after a while.

I DO read news articles and TVTropes quite a bit, but they jump from topic to topic rather quickly, so I can actually pay attention.
