I don't regret not buying it. Played it at a friends house and tbh it is the first CoD game I hated.

When I buy a war game, I buy it so I can have that semi-patriotic fuzzy feeling inside, and so I can enjoy myself online with classic games such as capture the flag, and plant the bomb.

I will say yes, since my reason I will even admit is a little immature, but I enjoyed Modern Warfare two. The online was decent, and as long as you were not in the possetion of a microphone, you could ignore the rantings that went on from young children, and upset pre-teenagers.

I will also say, that with the removal of capture the flag, I stopped playing MW 2 since I had lost a classic game that is always fun. I do not regret buying MW 2, and beleive I got my money's worth, it just disheartens me to know that such a classic was removed...

lol, the third option is right on the money.

I didn't buy it simply because I could tell I wouldn't enjoy it.

I got it because I loved the single player of the early Medal of Honor games, and especially Call of Duty 1 and Allied Assault, and Call of Duty 2 was fun. Modern Warfare 1 was okay but I should've learned my lesson. Call of Duty 2's single player was lacking. It was a short ridiculous killfest, full of auto regenerating health and batshit insane plot themes. Every other minute I was being chased down by a helicopter, in a helicopter that was crashing, watching a helicopter crash, showering down a Predator strike, or mowing down endless streams of badguys, interspersed with mission briefings about an evil guy trying to kill everyone everywhere and I directly had to stop him. And the goddamm fevala missons, none of the single player seemed fun. It was a chore to play. I preferred their WWII games. They had down time, you had to be careful because the rock behind you wouldn't heal you, and the atmopshere overall was scarier because you didn't know if there would be a German behind the next corner. Balls to the walls action constantly gets old. That's my opinion on the single player though, never played the multiplayer. I got sick of internet multiplayer in 1999 with TFC and Counter Strike and being called a cheater and a ****** who likes to choke on my dads dick and realizing I didn't really like playing with strangers. In house MP on a split screen or a LAN is fine.

I'd say it was definitely worth it.

The campaign was a lot of fun, even through all the fury of Takedown on Veteran. Spec Ops didn't last very long for me, I just got bored of it too fast.

The multiplayer is where I'm split. For a total of 48 hours of playing, I enjoyed it. A lot. I couldn't stop playing, and loved every second of it. It was just the more I played after that, the less fun it got. So for the time being, it was worth buying.

Though all that for $60 plus tax, then ending up losing the game (Hehehe.) before I could sell it to a friend, makes me question the purchase.

I don't regret it at all. The singleplayer alone, while short, was pretty much this:

And despite me hating the multiplayer (even though I still logged about 40-ish hours in it, I don't know why) that alone was worth it to me. It was bombastic, it was ridiculous, it was insane, but good gods what an adrenaline rush.

That's what clans are for, and good góds do they make multiplayer a blast. I would never have logged 224 hours in TF2 and hundreds of hours, over the years, in CS:S if it weren't for my clan. Strangers do suck.

I'm not really sure on this question. I bought it for PC, played through the singleplayer and spent a couple weeks playing the multiplayer fairly consistently. I got bored of it relatively quickly (in comparison, TF2 held my interest about 4 times as long) though, so I'm not entirely sure it was a worthwhile $60.

Not really. It's fun when you play it with friends (though, they probably don't like the fact that I'm not willing to pay $30 for some maps).

Well, technically, I didn't buy it. My mum did - for some completely unexplained reason. I asked her if she could buy a certain game for me, and apparently she was talked into buying Modern Warfare 2. Which is odd, because I wanted the game, but I figured that she wouldn't buy an 18 for me. But there we go. Shit happens. I think I've played about 14 hours total in the offline features (Campaign, Spec ops) And a lot more in Online (Something like 14 day's worth? Or some ridiculous amount). To be honest, I liked the game, even if I did have 1000 gamerscore on it within a week of acquiring it - Mainly because the Campaign was insultingly easy on veteran. But I digress. It was worth it I think, as I have enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, playing the online features.

My mates and I have racked up hours upon hours of split-screen fun with it, so no, I don't regret buying it at all. Even when one of them decides to be a wanker and take Scavenger with grenade launchers, we still have a lot of fun.

Short paragraph even shorter: SPLIT-SCREEN IS FUCKING AWESOME!
This.

Get 3 friends, load up splitscreen and lose yourself in frantic skirmishes on Rust :D
The game really flopped in my opinion, and the only part of split-screen that made it okay for me was the part where I could kick the noobtubers in the balls, but I can do that with any local game.

A shitty game is still a shitty game, no matter how many people are playing it on one console.

Theres a difference between a 'good game' and a 'fun game'. MW2 isn't great, but it is fun on SplitScreen.
The question is do we regret buying MW2, not how good it is, and despite it being somewhat shitty it was still FUN.

Yes, I am. I contributed to Infinity Ward thinking they actually made a good game. The CoD series had a good run, I really enjoyed the first one way back when, but it's just dead.

In short yes but in long yes but I do like playing with my friends split screen so does that mean anything?
I didn't like that you had to unlock weapons in split screen. If I have a bunch of friends gathered around the TV for a night of video games, I don't want to have everyone to have access to just five weapons. It's not like it has any weight in online matches.
