I've noticed from my travels around the United States that some regions tend to call carbonated drinks different things. Like, in the Northwest most people tend to say soda, in the south they say coke, and in the midwest they say pop. What do you call it? Also, please state where you're from. I want to see if my theory is right.

I call it pop, and I'm from Southern Ontario (in Canada). I'd change the end part, seeing as many people here aren't from the US.

In fairness i call it what its called. If its coke i call it "coke", Fanta is "fanta" and so forth.

I usually call it by it's name.
"Hey, did you get some coke/sprite/tango/etc?"
It sounds weird, but I can't stand people calling it soda.

I was born in the Midwest, so grew up saying pop.
But normally I call it by it's name. If it's Sprite I say Sprite.

Haha, 4/4/4/4 split at the moment.

I just call it juice, or fizzy juice if I am confronted with lots of drinks, although most of the time I just called it by its name. But then again, I am from that crazy 'lil place called the UK.

Soda. I've lived in the South a looong time and I still don't say pop. (People say pop in Kansas, too. Used to live there. They also say "warsh" and "acrosst". Weird.)

In Germany, most people say "Cola" for short.

EDIT:
Whoops, I thought it was about different names for coke.
But if it's about any carbonated soft-drink:
"Limo" is probably the closest possibility in that case.
Although I tend to use their name/an abbrevation thereof.

I usually say Coke, only if it's coke, pepsi or one of those generic Asda variants that, ironically, are the only one's called "coke"

And i'm from scotland, the BEST small country in the world
