Here's a little news for you people who can't stand cigarettes. Wait for it.
Non-smokers die every day! Hahahahahhhaahahahha
But I rather not die an agonizing death, thank you very much. Besides, cancer isn't the only health problem smoking brings with it. It's a crapload really, not all of them lethal.

Having thought about it, I'm going to have to partially recind my previous statement, I do quite often have a roll up or 2 with my poison of choice.

I smoke, because I'm addicted.

Hey kids, word of advice: don't start. Not even once, just for the taste. Not 'just socially', not 'just on weekends', not because you're curious, just don't.

*lights up*
This. Especially the advice.

Yeah, agreed on all counts, I'm a smoker, and I do enjoy it, but I don't enjoy what it does to my body, so meh double edged sword I guess, I still want to quit though.

I tried smoking once. It made me feel sick.

Really, Really Horrible.

As for smoking drugs, well, that's a different matter....

Smoking in general has never interested me. That includes the smoking of any substance, not just tobacco. It's not that I have anything against it. I'm not going to run up to someone smoking and rip the cig out of their mouth. It just never seemed like something for me.

I don't smoke but other people smoking dosn't really bother me (Although dating a girl that smokes would probably get really annoying). When I was little I would always hang around my grandpa who was a cronic smoker until he quit, so I kind'a like the smell of cigarette smoke because it reminds me of him, although that's only to a certain extent.

My religion forbids smoking (three guesses as to which church i go to), but even now when I'm thinking more about my decisions instead of just doing stuff because I'm told to, I still wouldn't smoke. It's bad for you, its expensive, and it makes you smell DISGUSTING.
To be honest, I've never heard of an actual church that forbids smoking. Which one is it?

(I have a feeling I'll feel like an idiot and it'll be fairly obvious after hearing the answer XD)
I see an epic flaming coming my way, but I belong to "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". Or Mormons, you might know us as.

Please, nobody flame me. I'm too young!
"Captain! Mormon life form spotted in the escapist dimension!"

"What of it? A rarity, to be sure, but ne'er a threat..."

"Yes, Captain, but it's exhibiting signs of humanity... Humor... Self-deprecation..."

"... My God... They're evolving... LOCK PHASERS ON-TARGET-- AWAIT MY COMMAND!"

.... I can't tell if that was a flame or not. o_O

Don't you guys believe that everyone can become a god?
This is bordering on offtopic, but I'll say that its not exactly as clear-cut as that, but there is a saying that goes something like "As man is, God once was. As God is, man may become." I've been a Mormon since birth, and I STILL don't understand it.

I smoked when I was at a music festival but that was for when I had nothing better to do. Idiotic I know. I've gotten used to it but still wouldn't do it out of choice.

I don't smoke, mainly because my mother smoked a lot, and she recently died of lung cancer, and she always told me how terrible it was and that she didn't want it for me. So I respect her wish and don't smoke. Plus, on top of all that, it smells bad.

Heavy smoker here, usually 3-5 packs a day, been smoking since I was 16. I picked it up back then because, like everyone else, it was 'cool'. I thought about quitting, then I took the time to enjoy a good smoke, and found it to be a most satisifying experience. It sounds stupid to non-smokers, but for me, it helps get rid of stress, anxiety, headaches, nausea, hunger, and a handful of other things. After a good meal, a cigarette is great. A cigar with friends and a glass of scotch is legend. Watching a sunset with any form of liquor and a pipe filled with, in my case, black cavendish, truely epic. For me, smoking is a social evernt, it helps break the ice (asking for a light, offering a cigarette). It is a thinking event, writing papers. It is a doing anything event (can't start my car without one), one before bed, one before I get up, handfuls throughout the day, whenever I have to lecture co-workers/students I have one, whenever I'm just shooting the shit with someone I have one.

But, I do know all the risks. I'm young still (20), and I occasionally cough up blood. I rarely run, and when I'm out of cigarettes, may god have mercy on whoever is in my way. A wise man told me this, and I'll pass it on.

"Because the packs have things written on them, everyone who smokes knows these things. They know it causes emphisima, lung cancer, low birth weight, fetal injury, premature birth. They know it limits your activity, is addicting, and is now a socially bad habit. It costs alot of money, and will most likely kill them. The truth is, not a single smoker cares."

It is a non-smoker world now, we are doomed to stay huddled outside in the snow with our friends, smoking.

I'm against smoking but I'm not bothered if someone wants to lay a road in their lungs, it's their choice, knock yourself out.

I smoke very infrequently since I'm trying my best to quit.
Every once in a while I'll have a few too many beers and light up or I'll have a few cigarettes before and after class (socially and alone).

Whenever weed is available I partake as well, though I typically don't go hunting for it myself. As long as I don't have to drive anywhere, it allows me to just chill out.

And I started smoking mostly because at my age, where I live it's a pretty common vice for young folks to have. It would have been best to never have started, since quitting now is a fair amount harder than I ever imagined it would be.

My dad gave me and my sister a tobacco pipe to try a puff on when we were little, naturally we of the sugar-loving found the taste vile and disgusting and never felt any compulsion to try it again.

I don't recommend smoking, but if you wanna I'm not offended by it.
