No, and I don't want to smoke anything. The idea disgusts me.

Smoking (cigarettes) is basically legalised mass murder...
*holds hands out* lock me up then.
Murder blamed on the companies that make cigarettes. They're giving a lethal product to millions.
There is one major flaw in that logic.

It's not the company's fault, it's the smokers fault. Marlboro isn't going around putting a gun to your head and forcing people to smoke, the people are going to stores and willingly buying their product knowing full well what it is and what it can do. It's not like that warning label on the side of the box can only be read with a magnifying glass, it takes up the whole side, so it's impossible to smoke and not be aware of the dangers.

You can make the same argument about how companies that make rope are responsible for all the suicides by hanging. Or how about someone sues Beretta for making the M9 that killed their teenage son in a gunfight, when it's clearly the owner's fault.

Doing away with tobacco companies is also one of the worst ideas I have ever heard of. Cigarette companies generate trillions of dollars in revenue each year that circulates throughout the economy, and removing them would be like removing removing your hand and then be asked to walk.

Again, it's not the company's fault that Joe Average's died of lung cancer, it's Joe's,

Message to the world: And another thing. Second hand smoking. Most people who are asked to move someplace else to smoke are more than happy to do so, just ask them nicely instead of being an elitist douche. And if they were there first, move your own damn self.

Well, it was a rant full of valid points...

Okay, i'll put it this way. If a company sold a handheld gaming device (best example I could think of), and it's primary purpose is entertainment (in the same way as smoking's primary function is positive), but then said that after X number of hours, it violently explodes, killing the gamer, would you allow it on the market? (Excuse the example)

God no. This is my view on smoking. It has a positive primary intention, but very sinister background story, if you like. I have no problem with smokers themselves, it's their thing, and they're entitled to it, but the fact that such a "dangerous" product is sold in such measures is quite scary.

I know they're not forcing people to take it, but in my example, company Y wouldn't be forcing you to buy the console. The health warnings are good, but in my opinion, also a bit naive. It's like saying:

"We know our product'll eventually kill you, but fuck it, we're making money out of it".

I know it's a large part of the economy (not quite trillions), but people'd find a replacement, and hopefully something healthier.

I use my hookah every so often. I stopped smoking cigars in 2007 when I came back from deployment. After having all the Cuban Cohibas I could smoke over there, I couldn't go back to Black and Milds. So yeah I love my hookah now. The best is to use Starbuzz melon shisha and put Bacardi Grand Melon with ice in the vase. It's amazing!

Nope. I have never actively smoked. It's a waste of money and health. I did and still have, however, some rather unpleasant situations when everyone is smoking in a close space. (Damn my smoking family!)

There's really no effect drugs can achieve that some good old fashioned sleep deprivation can't. And when you get right down to it, I don't want my breath to smell like a cremated raccoon.

I dislike the smell so i have no intensions to inhale it directly. Probably going to try marijuana since it actually gets you high, but obviously cant really rant about it since havent tried it.

Nothing against smokers.

...except, y'know the disguisting breath.

Don't smoke - the reek of smokers coming into a building was more than enough to turn me off (and the yellowing walls of smoker-homes x.X). And now that my grandpa has lung cancer from when he smoked some 40 years ago is making me more of an anti-tobacco than I used to be... But I understand why it's hard to quit, since nicotine increases the sensitivity to pleasure centers in the brain it's just like the Skinner's box rat hitting the pleasure lever until he dies. (Bit of trivia, the rats who were hard-wired for that experiment actually self-administered nicotine when it was offered in order to get a better high.)

Considering that being around smokers (even when they're not lit up) makes me feel sick, I can't stand the smell. so i'm VERY anti-smoking.

I smoke a cigar about once or twice a year with my dear ol' dad, and plan on smoking a pipe when I become a crotchety old man.

But cigarettes...what's the point? They're absolutely awful for you and expensive as hell, but to each their own I guess.

I see smoking as a great waste of time, money, and health!
...I don't understand why people start after seeing the facts...just stupid kids and their 'hipping' ways.

By "I'm completely against smoking," do you mean against yourself smoking or against all smoking by anyone at all?
