Huh.

Now that I think about it, I may also smoke my cigars in part, to piss off the detractors. There is very little that annoys me more than generalizations of hate for something so petty as a vice.

"I hate all smokers."

That is silliness. I, personally, find smokers to be more laid back than the non-smokers I know. Also, more accepting.

Also, Romeo&Julietta brand cigars are excellent. I'm talking the phallic ones, too.

By nature, I encourage people to take their pleasure where they will and to accept themselves for themselves instead of falling under that old peer pressure magick.

Good luck, Immortality is a high target. Might as well go for apotheosis, too!

The irrational hatred of smokers still confuses me. It seems like peoples reactions to someones choice is a massive hyperbole, brought on by fear campaigning.

On one hand, you have people saying that smokers are killing themselves, and endangering others - this is a bad thing. On the other hand, there is the "die smokers, die!" suggestion with some support, which makes me wonder just how insane a lot of you people are.

Killing smokers (Because death is good, right?) because they do something that shortens their lifespan (so death is bad, right?)... seems contradictory in nature.
Aye, sir, I do believe you have a point, there.

Seeing how my problems with acid reflux have become alarmingly severe I quit smoking a few months ago. Feels good, and I honestly hadn't realized how much money I'd been blowing on those cancer sticks.

I love my beautiful beautiful tobacco sticks. I smoke all kinds of tobacco products. Cigars, cigarettes, pipes e.t.c.

I like the smell of tobacco on a man too. Okay, so I am killing myself with cancer sticks. But hey, aren`t we all technhically killing ourselves day after day. As we live, our bodies degrade, the DNA just doesn`t copy itself the way it used to, the old hip joint and heart valve get slightly more worn out.

We are all killing ourselves a little more each day. They used to call it `living`

I'm not gonna go "oh you should stop" because of the health implications, but i am gonna ask you this. you say we kill ourselves gradually, true, but isn't a pleaseant death from old age better than some horrible illness smoking will probably give you?

On a side note youdidn't actually say why you like smoking. I'm curious as i can't see a single positive to them. and not to be a downer but you probably only like the smell because you smoke.

I do not want to give you a downer, returning the favour, but it seems that very few people in life eventually die a peaceful death. Dying, whatever the cause, is actually quite a violent and painful process with very little dignity. Our bodies and our minds all betray us in the end, regardless of what chemical products we may choose to put into them.

I am not sure why I like smoking but I think it is because my Grandfather smoked (I was raised by Grandparents) and the smell of smoke is kind of familiar and comforting. I am sure that what I just said rings a few bells with Freud. I can appreciate that many people hate the smell though. In the end, there is no accounting for taste.

still, smoking generally makes things worse. my grandparents smoked too ( fathers side grandmother gave it up for lent every year... kept going so she had something nest year) they're all gone now (never new dad's dad) part of the reason i dislike smoking.
For me it's less hating the smell and more it actively makes me ill.

I smoke weed about 2-3 times a fortnight with my mates from my old school.
If it grows in the ground what harm can it do...

Cigarettes are legalized mass suicide and anyone who smokes is a fucking retard.

Yeah, fuck you, go die faster you smelly, smelly people.

BTW, legalize pot and criminalize cigarettes. Pot smells less shitty anyways.

so does hemlock.

But nah, I have no problems with weed, and on rare occasions I'll smoke a cigar.

I smoke grass, but I smoke tobacco with it. As such, I'm addicted, but by the joys of psychology my brain is programmed not to want to smoke, only to want to smoke weed. Thus, despite me smoking every day, I can still go without and experience no withdrawals.

There's no purpose to simply smoking tobacco in my mind. Fags taste foul, and they don't get you high. I have no problems smoking something carcinogenic if I actually get something from it, but if the only satisfaction is satiating my addiction, I just don't see the point.

The occasional cigar can be quite nice though.
