Other: If it's lunch/supper time I stop playing to go eat, otherwise I have light snacks or nothing at all.

captcha: seconds, please. Seriously? I just said I don't eat much.

when playing games, it's like my body is in suspended animation. not only do I not get hungry, I don't get tired, I don't have to go to the bathroom, and I stop aging as well.

that last one was a joke, by the way, but everything else is true.
This. The game becomes so immersive, and my body so unresponsive, that I usually lose all sense of time and necessity, only realizing that I should probably eat after maybe 5 or more hours.

Especially in MMOs.

Usually when I have long sessions I don't realise I'm hungry until I stop.
This.

However, when I catch myself feelin' a bit too hungry during a multiplayer game, I let them know it's time to go. Either that or find a snack to tide me over until an incredibly epic game has ended. But it's gotta be Damn Good for me to stay.

If I'm ever in a competitive game, I try to eat before the game.

Lately I've been playing Spiral Knights... So I'm sorta-kinda forced to stop playing after a while so I don't use my Crystal Energy.

I never let myself go hungry, whilst gaming - if I'm over at a friend's house, they might let me start dying of thirst, with the promised cups of tea failing to materialise over the course of the evening, due to something funny someone has just said and derailing her train of thought from its slow progress across the rickety bridge of coherence. We are not in danger of starving to death, because a pot of food appears before we start and if only the players themselves would tear themselves from LOTRO for long enough to get their kids to bed, we could have a decent session.

But that's tabletop RPGs. When gaming on the computer, with the aforementioned LOTRO, I find that I rest for bathroom breaks, chances to give my stiff neck a move and for sustenance. I break for meals and that is very welcome, but if I head into town, I can set the character to converting the raw materials to trade goods, while I'm grabbing a brew and maybe a pack of biscuits.

Both of these posts really hit the nail on the head for me.

When I game for hours, I do it in hours I wouldn't have spent eating.

Food > Games :\

I eat when I'm hungry, if I'm in the middle of something, I either pause, or if I can't I let my group know I'm AFK, and then I go eat. They can say what they like, I won't hear it.

If I ever find myself starving just to get in a few extra minutes on a game, I'm going to sell every video game I own and go work out somewhere.

Seriously, that's just sad. Sorry, letting your body's needs go for entertainment goes beyond doing it for fun, that's just bad. Anyone that does that often needs to, and I hate to use this phrase, "get a life", i.e. find some friends or a different hobby or something.

I love games and long sessions, but not that much.
It's not so much that we starve ourselves on purpose, we just forget to eat. Then when we finish, we think "holy crap I'm really freaking hungry."

Sometimes. I did that when I was really into WoW, but since then I usually bring a bag of cheese (mozzarella, of course) or chocolate covered peanuts and a crapload of water or chocolate milk with me. Every few hours or so I'll run upstairs and get a refill of water or whatever. This only happens when I do really long gaming sessions, which I haven't been doing lately. The longest session I've had is 14 hours on Christmas day (I got Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood). When Mass Effect 3 comes out, I expect to beat that record.

I find that gaming is actually a really good way to control my appetite. I know that if I'm gaming, I won't get hungry, I don't know why, I just know it works. I still always have water on hand and will always go use the bathroom if necessary, but I understand how people in some countries can die from long gaming sessions.

I'll usually have a drink with me when I'm playing a game.

If I get hungry, I'll usually go get something to eat, and finish eating it BEFORE I start playing again.
I don't want food on my controller/keyboard...

Depends. If I'm playing a singleplayer game, then I pause and get something to eat. If it's multiplayer and I'm hungry, then I stay hungry until the pangs become too great to endure and I quit to eat. Now, I just need a decent enough game that would make me forget to eat.

iM usually pretty casual, but have definitely.had the occasional oh my god I didn't eat today moment. I don't bring snacks to the computer and the Wii would make eating problematic and I simply don't use the PS3.

I game for maybe one or two hours at once. When I raided in WoW, I usually ate a decent meal before hand, and just kept a few cans or bottles of pop or sports drink nearby.

I have a meal every four hours. I don't play for more than three hours in a row.

I can easily go a day without food, but this is something I might do on a trip, not in a game session.

Well I typically eat a shitload of food at one time (usually during my gaming binges). So yeah, I eat while gaming. However, my metabolism (and a lot of my dietary choices) prevents serious negative consequences from it.

My pattern while eating is: I die, I eat a few bites while waiting to respawn/waiting for friends to finish a mission. Very useful tactic. That way you don't get distracted while traveling to your destination or if you're in the middle of combat.

I get so involved in the game I'm playing I forget to eat until my stomach kindly reminds me it's 4am and I haven't eaten in twelve hours.

EDIT: Unless I'm with my friends because if we all hangout and play games we usually stop somewhere to get lots of pop, chips, etc.
