I still have my hand-me-down Dreamcast (which apparently was only about a year old around that time) from when I was in grade school... and the first console that I ever bought, which was the GameCube (even though I bought it about 3 years before the Wii came out...)*
The Dreamcast came from my mom's boyfriend's son, who only had three games with it (Super Runabout, Crazy Taxi, and Ready 2 Rumble Boxing) and no VMU... I almost sold it, but I decided to keep it after finding out about the console's history... (No DVD function? Well, "that sucks"... LOL) That, and I never get tired of playing SR or CT, even without a VMU...
The GameCube was mainly bought in one-dollar bills that I obtained after demonstrating one of the prizes students could reach for if they sold enough candy and/or other miscellaneous items from a huge catalog... (One of the few good highlights from middle school...) It also came with Smash Bros. Melee, which I spent more hours on that game than any other fighting game I have ever played...

I would count my PS2s and PS3, however the PS2 were either sold to me through a friend or... well... I bought them used at my local Gamestop... and my first PS3 ended up crashing and I ended up buying a new one... Good thing the guy at Gamestop still gave me the discount for handing them the broken PS3 in exchanged for the new PS3... (Also, because I don't consider them my original consoles, overall...)
