if a FPS has a good campaign but shit MP... i can deal with it

but if it has a SHIT campaign and decent MP... not getting it

im a sucker for a good story with good gameplay(tho very few...BFBC2 is one of the few where MP/campaign is decent, same with Crysis)

tho there are a few certain games where its purely MP, DoD: S, CS1.6 :)

I would have already finished Black Ops' campaign if it weren't for the fact that it freezes every time I play the mission WMD.

you didn't give the option for 'I play campaign then maybe the multiplayer', thats how I go with FPS games.. if I enjoy the gameplay enough then I'll give it a go with multiplayer, otherwise it's all campaign for me..
Dude its right there, I play campaign then multiplater

I'm mostly into games for the campaign. Multiplayer comes second to single player for me. Multiplayer in shooters can be fun in short doses, but is loaded with bad connections, extremely good players, trolls, and loudmouths. So glad most games let me mute everyone before a match.

campaign...then multiplayer

I'm rather surprised at the poll results so far, cuz most people I meet nowadays skip straight to the multiplayer for FPS games

I always give the campaign a try first. It lets me get a hang of the game before I go up against fellow humans.

I always play single player. Most of the time, I'll beat the single player campaign before I even start the multiplayer. But either way, both can be fun. I don't get why anyone would only play multiplayer, but some people do.

I have a strict personal rule that when it comes to a shooting game, or any game that features multiplayer online and splitscreen, I will not go near it untill the campaign mode is completed.

Well most of the time I JUST play the campaigns because my Xbox is not constantly hooked to the Internet and my PC is not powerful enough for anything, but sometimes I play the Multiplayer over at a friends PC, or we play Splitscreen (which becomes rarer and rarer, sadly...we need MORE CO-OP CAMPAIGN MODE!!!)
Couldn't agree more man but like in gears of war, not like halo, I hear portal 2 is going to have a great co-op.

I have paid for the full game and I will play the full game... well, I often play only the campaign, I do try to get with the multiplayer for a bit at least.

I always play the campaign first. It's the most important part of the game for me.

Always campaing first. In the case of call of duty it just ends there in fact, i'll barely touch the multiplayer. Online multi that is, I still like split screen.

Though treyarch really fucked it over in Blops. It's a mess. No option to turn on persistent radar (which makes small games really boring when all the maps are huge), no spec ops, horrible frame rate drops, and basically completely ignoring all the strides IW made last year. It's the shoddiest splitscreen I've ever seen tacked on to a shooter.

There is no "I play both equally" so I clicked Multiplayer then campaign.
Also, now a days "shooter" is a broad term. Clearly you're referring to halo and call of duty and the like, but then it comes to mind that fallout 3/new vegas, mass effect, and plenty other games are campaign only. Then there's borderlands which are a bit of both.
