So anyways, out of my entire town, me and my freinds seem to have the only dnd group going, and this town has over 5000 people in it. Is dnd becoming a lost art, or is my town just a bad example. I only have 5 people who play dnd, just to put it in perspective.

so, do you still play dnd?

My town is rather small but there's a group who play games like that in a nearby pub. I don't play it personally but I know it's there- bearing in mind this is the UK and as far as I know we don't even have stores stocking most D&D products (I've never seen any in shops).
Maybe it is just your location?

I don't like DnD anymore. It's too limiting. I'm developing my own RPG system instead. It's coming along quite well.

However, that effectively counts. Roll-play is roll-play no matter what game you're playing.

I never started it. I know some that do play it though, and they enjoy it.

Would actually want to look into it out of curiosity, even if it is a one time thing. The problem is I've little idea where to find a group at all & even then a group who'd put up with a novice..

I want to. The trouble is, no one in my area at all is actually interested in it. No one in my school, neighbourhood, hangouts, anywhere.

I used too a few months ago, but since college let out, I haven't really been able to do a game.

Anyone here live around Boulder, Colorado, perhaps we could solve my predicament.

Interesting, well if you get it worked out, do you mind letting me know?

No, but that's because I haven't found anyone to play with. Hopefully that'll change next year when I move into a new flat which is mostly filled with students as well, so fingers crossed.

Might do other tabletop RPGs though, not necessarily DnD. I hear the Dragon Age one is okay.

I used to play in high school, but once I moved away I never really had anyone to play with though so... but if I knew about some people who seemed friendly were running a game, I'd probably join if I got invited to it.

I'll quote my man Gygax here

"The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules"

I found a gaming club at my college, play it all the time, and other systems too.
The important thing is that i have fun.

Then we go to Dennys.

Why yes, I love DnD =D

When I have school, I play it every Thursday at a Gamer's Club.

By the way, I swear we had a thread like this not long ago..

I did play when I was younger, although for some reason this always resulted in a bunch of eight- to eleven-year-olds who happened to know my family insisting that they join in, then complaining of boredom, complaining about not getting enough treasure, and blaming me for making the game unfair when they died after pulling a Leeroy Jenkins in a room full of Wights.

It kind of ruined it for me, and I stopped. However, it's been five years, and I've gotten interested again. I'm currently trying to get together a group of (obviously) older players. I think it still has the potential to be fun.

I have nobody to play with, but I have basically all the 3.5 books... Also trying to get into GURPS, but I'm so used to d20 its really hard. DnD will never die, because there will always be someone who hates being shoehorned like in video games. Stab that fetch quest giver in the face, animate his corpse into a walking throne, capture his hot sister and give her a princess leia bikini, and drink rum.

There are a few websites and such dedicated to finding pen and paper gamers in an area to play games.

just search for some meet up groups if you guys are interested, We Are Out There, but you're probably not going to run into us at some grocery store by some strange act of fate.

Do I? My friends and I run a multichapter organization spread all across the united states devoted to tabletop gaming.

http://ogres.wikia.com/wiki/The_Ogre_Lair is the main communal page for our group.

http://www.quiltcityogres.com/ is our local chapter.

Tabletop gaming for life.

I play it whenever I can find enough people who aren't weirded out by the fact that I have a large duffel bag full of DnD books.

I would love to play but I can't convince any of my friends to play, and while one is a good DM he always is busy so sessions are always infrequent at best.
