I have never played WoW. Probably Not a chance in hell I never will.
Fixed for me. I am not into MMO's and even if I were I'd never pay a monthly fee for a game I have already bought.
You really are that good.

The way I see it is that monthly fees are to keep the devs patching + adding new content. With most games, once a game is done, it's done and they stop working, save for bug fixes.

I quit just because the game is a band wagon that charges you to push it.
Also do you regret it,play other m.m.o, or do you just laugh at those that still do?
Edit: made it a little early sorry.
Good for you. I quit around march, and I feel I'm better for it.
It was a fun year-and-a-half, but I need to focus on other things.

I've tried other MMOs but none of them seem to draw me in... City of Heroes, There, FF11...

I don't laugh at people who play it. The campaign that I went through from level 1 to 80 was incredibly fun. After I hit 80 I realized there was no longer a point to it.

Blizzard is slowly choking out the players that played for fun and awesomeness. Now since they cater to the people who cry about every.single.patch.that.is.released... it will never be the same since they will never make the masses happy until they can curbcheck god and get away with it with no damage.

I just got back into playing it. And I play it because I find it fun.
I'm going to giggle for the next five minutes.
I don't get it.

I used to play a lot, but have'nt really played much recently. I had an awesome guild, and loved doing dungeons raids and such. I got a DK up to level 80, but found PVP, and raiding very boring as a DK. I decided to try get my hunter up to 80. I'm at 72 now, and am sick of leveling :(. Haven't played in about 2 weeks, but I'll probably go back to it in like a week though.

One person claimed Blizzard was driving away people who played for fun. This came after someone claimed to have returned because they found it fun. I'm a big fan of irony.

I quit out of necessity. My right hand got super screwed up, making it impossible to work a mouse. My hand is better now, but I never started again since I no longer have the time. I was a level 26 gnome mage before I quit, that was about three years ago.

Sorry, but I never made it past level 16. I switched over to LOTRO for 20 bucks, and the community there was great in comparison. It goes towards my theory that the larger the game's community, the lower its average IQ. Don't have to deal with 12 year olds calling me a N*****F*****.

I quit some time after BC. I love WarCraft, and World of WarCraft as a concept, but I just don't think they went in the right direction in it. I could go on and on and on about all of the reaons I thought they messed up, but I really don't want to. I think a WarCraft MMORPG is a great idea, just not WoW. Mind you, I have some great memories about that game. Met some great people, had a lot of fun, but it veered too far off from my vision of what a WarCraft MMORPG should be.

Played WoW since release and still play. Granted I have stopped playing and cancelled my account a few times. Vanilla WoW (Pre BC) was awesome. Community was excellent and the guilds I was in had a fantastic time struggling through the raiding (yes because struggling to achieve something makes it all worthwhile). Casuals (would say I'm half and half) would whine about not being able to see all the content but thats half the reason it was good, being able to see just 1 of a certain weapon made things exciting and something to aim for not the everyone has the same stuff just different colours that it is now.

Yes I still play but recently rerolled with friends, new server, new faction, new class. About the only way to keep interested. BC was dire and WOTLK is just not what it once was. I still enjoy it but miss 40 man raids MC and BWL so much. Have tried WAR and LOTRO but they just haven't got the movement which makes WoW so good. Right now I'm now just waiting for Old Republic and Diablo 3.

Oh, then please, enjoy!
Yeah, I'm deffiantly a casual player. I play it because its fun to level up and all, and I love playing with my friends.
I feel sorry for the hardcore players. They get to know the game so well that they lose sight of the beauti-ahhh whatever, you get it.

I still play, I do take brakes from it though, and these brakes usually vary in lenght.
It's usually between 1 week and 1 month though.

another related question, do you guys think WoW is an addiction?
Yes, but I don't think it was designed that way. Its sheer popularity has bred a competitive edge. (And shitloads of gold sellers.)

Personally, as an amateur fantasy fiction writer, I find it quite soothing to play an hour of WoW to lead me into some literary graft, because it's got lovely art design and it's really, really easy.

I quit for 2 main reasons:

A) I can get basically the same game (different content, same mechanics) for free
B) I was sick of every server being populated with cunts who are more obssessed with raiding than they are with getting laid. Seriously, what kind of moron turns down sex for a raid? Thats simply stupidity in its purest form.

Another reason is because far better games (like prototype, ghostbusters, etc) have all come out recently =)
