it feels like my parents don't think of me as another human being, but that i'm but a toy to them, to be molded into what they want. i can make my own decisions and just because i'm not 18 doesn't make me less of a human. i want to know if there are others this blinded.

I thought you were talking about kids as in 3-12 year olds. They have no right even being let out of the house. Beyond that, it depends on individual level of maturity.

While I may think that we underestimate the intelligence and resilience of our youth to learn from their mistakes, I also think you aren't doing yourself any favors by misspelling "decisions."

Oh be careful, the goth crowd gets really mad when you call them emo... at least in my experience.

OT: i tend to think that it depends on the kid. A case to case sort of thing. My parents trusted me to the ends of the earth, because i've NEVER given them a reason to not trust me.

it depends on the individual, some are fine, some aren't some kids (I can name a few) should not be allowed to move without consent from someone who knows their arse from their elbow. though, you need to make sure children are mature, otherwise, as adults, they will be incapable of doing even the most basic things.

Oh I thought by "children" you meant the 12 or under type.

Anyway, just grow up and tell them to stop trying to "mold" you. You will get out of your slavery eventually

Stupid question, and it can only get stupid answers.

The fact of the matter is that it varies between child to child. One of my little sisters has always been extremely capable of making her own informed decisions, whereas another of my little sisters never has been able to. Kids aren't all the same. People seem to forget that.

Depends on what you mean by kid. We talking 3-12 or perhaps 13-17? The first category are all retards and the latter category are mostly self0important and too hormonal to thing straight...Basically everybody is stupid.

Seconded. On both points.
