Fairly self explanatory, is Minecraft scary for you?

Personally I find it rather creepy. Especially when you're mining and you here the sound of a monster through the wall. Also the feeling of isolation enhanced by the fog and silence makes you really feel like you're all alone in a huge scary world.

I came up from the mines, heard a sound of someone moving on stone in my base, took the ladder to the second floor, and found a creeper had spawned in my base...
Yes, I find Minecraft scary.
Especially when there is only one ladder to the second floor.
Had to use an access ladder on the side of my base to get to the roof and lure the creeper onto the ladder so it fell to the bottom, then go back down and lead it outside, to do combat with a stone axe >.>

Being lost at night with ten torches, yes that is scary. Even more so with the high-res texture pack.

I've never thought about it like that, but now that you mention it the feeling of isolation is downright terrifying.

I'm actually quite impressed with how atmospheric a game it is, considering how simple the concept is.

yes it is you are working on something them night begins to fall you run to your house hoping you can make it them you seal the exit and you wait for day to come as you hear the moans of monsters wanting to tear you to pieces, silent, alone, only a fire place crackling the night away, you look out of you window and all you see is the darkness. death. and doom.

It can be, if you're a fan of mining in tiny tunnels...

Then I did this with my mine...

Yes, it is quite scary. Getting lost underground is such a horrifying, claustrophobic feeling. I can't imagine what it will be like in the future versions when your torches will go out after some time.

A bit. Usually I keep it from being scary by turning on peaceful mode and turning down the sound. It's more of a "spelunking" game for me where I get lost underground and I find a way to get back to the surface.

Yeah it's sorta scary, though the monters aren't that creepy themselves with their funny blockheads, when you suddenly see something jump in front of you while you're trying to make your way towards your house, it is. I love minecraft for its capability of triggering so much emotions with such easy graphics

Sometimes. The main problem is that the Creepers don't have any sound cues (aside from the "You're Too Late" one).

You're going to love it when Zombie Rush gets implemented... on nights with a red moon, a million zombies spawn and have the ability to break walls.

... I installed a really really cheerful texture pack. So Zombies are smiling. And creepers look like something out of a children's book. So I find Minecraft quite happy.

It can get pretty creepy when creepers (the exploding ones, I think) turn up and threaten to turn you in to flambe human.

I have lit up my entire peninsula with torches and closed it off from the rest of the landmass with a flaming wall of netherrack to make my house/spawn point mob proof. Tho I might have to re do it when torches start to go out. I may just light it up with more flaming netherrack. As for the zombie rush my house is built floating in the air so all i should have to do it destroy the stairs leading up to it and i should be safe unless they learn how to build...

You're going to love it when Zombie Rush gets implemented... on nights with a red moon, a million zombies spawn and have the ability to break walls.
those who built castles hollow castles and calm moats at night will stand in-front of their windows staring at the moon, dreading, fearing a colour not because of what it is but what it will bring. standing. starring. waiting for the time when the moon will run red with the blood of those once dead as if its a pulsing vein that is about to be strict.

every night is a treading experience sitting on their thrown of nothing ruling over a land that wants them dead starring down an empty hall with torches blazing and his sword at his side. A sword which is his, dug out by his own hands and forged when his empire was still small waiting to for the time were it will run red.

sitting in this empty hall e hears a howl, a gust of wind, his torches once blazing now dead only the moon is lighting his thrown when he see's a red light. a bloody full stop. he looks down at the rest of his castle as everything crumbles as the land takes back what was once its he waits. and all he see's is the end. he grabs his sword, his only friend. his door is knocking, he knows his guest, his end. he fights the hoards of a mightier force, every stroke only being a dent in a mountain. his blade, his hall, his empire is running red like the moon and the land. his moats once a noble blue is now a barbaric red. he fights he sees a light, a lining of his victory but his once unbreakable friend crumbles as the hoards of the land take back what is theirs.

/end

and that is a summary of what the zombie hoard will feel like please tell me what you think of it.
