I do have doubts as to whether MW2 will be able to surpass CoD4. But the thing is, if it is bad, everyone will simply go back to CoD4 (Or WaW)

when i first saw halo tree it looked great from the box art to the loading screen. but after that it all went pear shaped. having never played a halo game before i set myself to be blown away by what was claimed to be ""the game of the decade.""

unfortunately i found myself to be disappointed.

for all the hype, i had seen it as the bog standard spam-sandwich FPS that it was. though i must concede that it was by and large fun to twat the little bastards on the head it gets very boring after a while. the rest of the game was extremely monotonous and i found myself finishing it more out of self determination than any actual enjoyment.

however i find that good multiplayer is what really matters nowadays. and multi player is fun with friends. but i still couldn't get my head around halos idea of "fun".

i do not like, nor find any skill, in a game where the business end of your gun simply wears down the player before hitting him over the head with the butt of it delivers the decisive blow. even for halo this doesn't make any sense.

however i loved cod for. it was a realistic breath of fresh air for the FPS market. the game play is addictive and the plot is sound but what really blew my mind was the sheer amount of work that had went into the multi player side of the game. i found the way you could choose and customise your guns was addictive and with challenging side achievements it seemed like there would be no game that could better it. even in cod waw i fond the controls sticky. i look forward to the new cod mw with great anticipation, and like many, hungry for more multi player mastery

I don't get it, why do people buy the Call of Duty games? In a few months it's outdated by another CoD game. They just keep making new titles all the time. Why would I pay for a multi player game just to have to scrap it a few months later when the playerbase jumps on the new release?
I played CoD4 on my younger brother's account a little, sure it was fun for a while. But the patches, god damn it. CoD never hosted their patches on their own sites, and it was just plain annoying. The CoD series annoys me to death, it's like mobile phone that stops getting support and dies as soon as the new model comes out.

So yeah, in answer to your question, I don't care.
Well after what you've just written I'm pretty certain you do care, because if you're this enraged before it's released, you're heads probably gonna explode with anger when it finally comes out.
I was trying to be ironic. I suppose the humor was lost somewhere in the intensity.

Since it will be using things from halo i think thats going to be a very unlikely event. Sure it might be just as good or better, but it won't have the same effect that Halo did; I mean it will be the 6[sup]th[/sup] game in it's series, it's hard to brake a mould at that point.

Glad to see 'don't care' is winning marginally. I don't care because I'll play it and I'll either like it or not like it (I'll definitely like it), either way it doesn't matter what else happens to do with it, all that matters is that I play the game... (because I have no life and live vicariously through video games).

Halo is a pile of over hyped crap, suited to 13 year olds who should be popping Ritalin like crazy.
Call of duty will hopefully be rightfully hyped, and hopefully halo ODST took away all the halotards that started playing COD.

No, Modern Warfare 2 will not be the next Halo 3. When I say that, I mean that it will be more successful then Halo 3.

Oh trust me I found it funny... I just didn't think it was intentional :D

If only that's what people did when they didn't like a sequel.

CoD4 was released over 2 years ago and is still one of the most played games on Xbox Live. I'm fairly certain it has an equally monstrous following on both PSN and PC. You act as if they release a new CoD game every 2 months, when in reality it's more along the lines of 12-15 months in between. Not only that, but the ones released every year are made by 2 different developers. Only 1 of those 2 developers actually knows what the hell they're doing. Guess which one is making MW2?

I'm already dissapointed it's still using the horribly unbalanced perks based system again. Class based was much better, no unbalanced setups that put you as a big advantage over others, that and not everyone was running around with a fucking M16 and stopping power. I'll still buy it and play the fuck out of it, I just wish IW would learn how unbalanced their system is.
It's not unbalanced. All of the so-called "overpowered" perks and guns are available either right from the start or at a very early level. I can think of only 4 guns/perks that anyone uses AT ALL that are unlocked at high levels (P90, .50 Cal, Bandolier, and Dead Silence), and none of them is gamebreaking in the least. The 2 best guns and 4 of the best perks (M16, MP5, 3x Special Grenade, Stopping Power, Deep Impact, Steady Aim) are all available the moment you unlock 'Create a Class'. In any game where there is customization, there will be min-maxers. People who strive to be the best no matter what it takes. Deal with it.

How can Halo 3 and MW2 be compared? One is Xbox, the other is multiplatform. More money in the multi.

See, it's impossible for MW2 to become the next Halo 3 because of the simple fact that it's going to be a good game.

This is why I'll be avoiding online-play like the plauge.

The fact is, CoD 4 was the new Halo 3, especially on Live.
