Do you feel like the words you say and the ideas you express, whether it be on this forum or real life or whatever, have impact on others and bare some weight in people's mind?

Do you think people find what you say interesting, profound, shocking, mind-blowing, or some other adjective that means people care about your ideas and opinions.

Do people follow your instructions? Do you think that you wield some influence over people, whether it be by some "oh look how he cool he is" act of psychology or because you legitamately alter their views on whatever the topics was?

Do you feel like people value what you have to say?

The people I'm around do, as I don't talk all that often.

A wise man speaks when he has something to say. A fool babbles because he must say something.

Did you say something? I was busy ignoring what I was reading XD just kidding.

OT: Yes, I think people look over at least some of the stuff I post. Some topics are more tantalizing than others and get more attention. Most people here probably wouldn't ignore your posts just because you posted them. They may not see it and/ or are too busy posting on a different one.

Well, I get quoted a helluva lot here. And in real life, I give a lot of advice to friends, being this [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OnlySaneMan] in most of the circles I'm part of.

Only when I'm the OP really. I prefer real life discussions to forum discussions because I can hit my friends when they're being stupid.

Hm, I'm quoted enough to think that people are at least partly paying attention to my posts on the forums. Or maybe I'm delusional. o_o;;

In real life, yes. At least three! THREE! Ah-ha!

I think I'm listened to among my friends, but that's because they know when I am saying something important and have learned to pay attention. They also know when I'm a rambling idiot or just being insane, and either join in or ignore me.

As for strangers? No stranger wants to hear wisdom, especially so when it is important to hear.

I was about to say I babble in real life but only when I have something important to say. This would have been a paradox to your quote if I hadn't checked the definition of babble. Otherwise I would have been a "wise fool".

When I checked the different definitions for babble, I realized that babble isn't only mumbling but also mind-less talking. I guess I should instead say I mumble and not babble, although I'm ususally not aware of my mumbling.

I know people don't listen to me, they constantly tell me: I don't care, sorry I wasn't listening, shut up! nobody cares, roll they're eyes when I'm talking, walk away in the middle of the conversation, etc. It doesn't really affect me that much but it is annoying, to be fair I rarely have something interesting to say and most people disagree with me, but I feel like I need a compensation for every time I was forced to hear what they had to say at the church and even though I did not care I listened... maybe it does affect me more than I thought.

In fact people care so little about what I say I'm betting even though I used to hang out here every day of the last 2 or 3 YEARS nobody notticed I was gone for 6 months and came back just today.

On the forum, not really. I am not one of the all-powerful regulars.

In real life, my friends regularly come to me for advice, and I am the go-to gal for acting as the mediator in arguments, whether I want to be or not. So, at least in real life, people listen to me.

On this forum: Not much, considering that there are 10,000 others.

In real life: A fair bit of weight, but it depends on the situation. If I'm just ranting unsolicited, than they won't give a shit most likely. I don't care though, since people listen to you or not whether you want them to or not.

Generally? Not really. People always seem to rationalize away anything I say. I could say the most simple truth and they just refuse to listen.

I think it's because of my delivery...

In the few subjects where I have some expertise in, generally yes.

In anything else, not really.
