I'm going to see it tomorrow. It should be good but even if it isn't I am not particularly worried. Apart from 13 and Geoff Bridges (sp?) I am not familiar with the other actors/actresses anyway so..hard to speculate but it does have a relatively decent plot!
I think it will fail. I haven't seen the original Tron, but from what I hear a lot of peoples love for that film comes from the less than stellar special effects, and just general nostalgia. You can't capture that in a sequel made 20 years later that uses more green screen than story.
I really doubt it will be worth the hype, and it's practically impossible to follow up the original Tron in innovation IMHO. Then again, that was so far ahead of it's time that only retrospect really brings out it's virtues. Maybe we'll find the same thing happening with Tron2.
But, I won't get my hopes up. Recent movies have made me a little wary of sequels and the "action"-heavy genre(s). I'll give it a look, just to see if it surprises me. Maybe.... I'm allowed to dream, right?

I do hope it's good. I'm more going to see it for the "visual" aspect than anything else. There's just something about Tron's manifestation of a virtual world I find...intriguing. Can't quite put my finger on what that is though, it just...is.
It looks amazing. I can't wait. I've been waiting for a while for this, ever since I saw the first trailer. I love the look, the music is by Daft Punk, and I just saw the first one which I liked. I'm definitely seeing this as soon as possible. I have exams right now, though.
It depends how it goes down the the die hard fans of the original. I've heard it's poor but I've not seen it.

OP: The only reason I'm going to see it is because it looks awesome. I haven't seen the original so I guess I'm not that worried whether it's good or bad. I'm just looking to be entertained. So hit, for me.

The first one was silly and dumb, but SPECTACULARLY innovative and stylish. I love the visual style of the new one, and I really hope the rest of the film holds up.

It looks at the very least like it's going to be one of the prettiest and most visually interesting films this year, and the soundtracxk is incredible, so I truly cannot express how disappointed I will be if it sucks.
