Sorry man, but if you want to "run-n-gun" play a game like Halo. Now granted your team-mates are dicks for not helping you up (assuming they were able to) but if you were in my game I would have kicked you.Reeper0278 said:I mean planned out tactics where some people will get into a little group and do what they do only to curse at someone who messes up.
This may not have happened to you exactly, but these people just get on my nerves when I play L4D. Run-n-gun always works for me, sitting in one spot always made it less fun. But when I ignore their "plan" and am attacked by a special zombie, these guys would refuse to help me, and if I was wounded on the ground, they wouldn't help me up and would continue with their mission. This is like the Leeroy (Leroy?) Jenkins syndrome. Damn, it is annoying when you have military-wannabes playing for "skill" and not for fun.
I'm not against fun but Left 4 Dead (on expert atleast) NEEDS to be a tactical game if anyone ever plans to do well. I don't know about you but constantly dying is NOT fun for me. Games like Left 4 Dead, Rainbow 6 Vegas (1 & 2) and Gears of War (1 & 2) require players to play tactically and cooperatively, and I enjoy that thrill and team-work. There's been a recent push in games in the past few years from the Halo way of fighting and being a super-human, to the team-work and (sometimes) realistic shooter where you're NOT a god among men and need the help of your allies. There's nothing wrong with liking the way one plays in Halo, but don't expect a game like Left 4 Dead to be that way too.
