And also, why? What's wrong with him really? You don't like his humour (fair enough, but why not?).
Because he is a video form troll, and the only way to get rid of those is by not feeding them with attention.
I love British humor, but this is 4chan/youtube "humor", I understand alot of people still find that amusing but I'm over that hump.

I've been watching it since the beginning. The humor isn't always the best (I don't find it as grating and godawful as some people seem to, but I very rarely get a chuckle out of it either), but he's a smart guy and I enjoy hearing his take on things.

That's a bit arrogant isn't it?

You've just denigrated anyone who likes Jim Sterling, by claiming you are 'beyond it' (over it), like your above it. Geez, just give us some information here man, you don't like him because, what? He is too sarcastic? Too artificially up himself? He does actually have some hard hitting stuff, his Nintendo episode is really quite good, I suggest you watch it, then say what you didn't like about that episode.

I gave him him a chance by watching one of his chats, but after he picked his side of the DNF bit I offically went AWOL. No biggie :/

I watch all his shows on the escapist but they are getting a bit samey. Jim does have interesting things to talk about and he does it in his own ranty way. But every rant feels fundamentally the same.

Yes. Because I'm British, so I understand his sense of humour and I know it's just a persona.
yeah what that guy said.

I think he's pretty funny and he speaks a lot of truth in the episodes i've watched.

Take it as you like, there are just some things that do not amuse me anymore, when I was younger I thought leet speak and all those internet abbreviations (OMG, LOL, GTFO,....) were the shit now I have come past that.

OK so I don't get suspended again on this matter, I'll put the comment on Jimmy Carr.
Jimmy Carr has aggressive yet subtle humor, he doesn't get into a big huff and puff about anything, he does not repeat his lines like my grandad, his points are short snappy and smart... not everyone presents their shows like that.

That's because they're rants. Rants will be rants.

He's a bit of an awkward performer, and pretty much every point he's made has been made before by better writers with more interesting things to say--often times on the very same site.

The topics he discusses and his points are interesting enough that I just ignore his dickhead persona. I know that his egotistical behaviour is an attempt at satire, but I just find it distasteful.

Someone call the police people on an internet forum complained about change and something new. No scratch that people on an internet forum complained. This is a big deal. Anyway I do watch them but they are not the best thing on the internet nor are they the worst. They provide me with a few mins of entertainment if nothing else so it does the job it is required to do.

I love him. So much. His look, his style, his frankness, his bluntness. It all works. Indeed, his videos are some of the best on this site - and there are a lot of great videos on this fucking website!!

But if we're honestly playing favourites, I'd actually put Loading Ready Run at the top of the pile. Those LRR guys are probably the most consistently amazing comedic writers and actors on the Escapist. (And elsewhere.)

look were all entitled to our own opinion on the matter,
I watched the first three episodes, the first, I really disliked, I thought it was the same old argument badly shot, yet I gave Jim a chance and watched the next two. I really didn't like them either.
So no I don't watch anymore, but no one can say I didn't give him a go.

If it looks interesting, yeah. I still maintain he needs to drop his live-action bits, the guy is not an actor and although his done-to-death spiel can sometimes work it's just not good enough to take time away from the actual point of the video.

I've watched a couple of his episodes, and while he has good points, his humor (or his persona's humor or whatever) just doesn't do it for me. Jim can make me genuinely uncomfortable by how painfully unfunny some of his bits are. Unlike most people I like the "Thank God for me" thing because I like people with egos.

Then again, some of his points don't make much sense either--most recently his Linearity vs Replayability episode. He described L.A. Noire--a sandbox game with a great narrative--as linear; I think that was just one bad example amongst his good examples, though, most notably Final Fantasy IX.

It's hit or miss.

At first i bloody hated him. Now, i think he's ok and makes some good points. However, while i'm starting to see the funny side of his gargantuan ego, the "thank god for me" catchphrase is annoying as hell.
