No for a few reasons. I used to when i was younger but i found i spent to much time fiddling with the buttons/strap. I also work as a dishwasher/prep cook at the time so a lot of hot water and time in and out of an oven. So a cheap watch i could afford would likely not live long. My cell has a clock in it and to be honest spend more than an hour with me and you will find me pulling out my phone to check the time quickly is the least offensive I can be.

First, watches were a fashion device for the rich elite. Then they became cheap and affordable. Then watches were something we couldn't live without. Then phones started having displays for the time and date. Now, they are fashion devices again.

I wear a watch (a relatively expensive one too) mainly because I like the way it looks, its an annoying numberless face so I much prefer looking at my phone

Used to, but not anymore.

However, it's not because I use my phone. Nope! It's because I have a pocket watch. Yes, a pocket watch. Complete with short chain.

It was my great grandfathers, and he had it with him for most of his life. Even during his time in WW1. It was gifted to me by my great cousin Myrtle.

Never knew my great grandfather, but I'm very close with Myrtle. She's one of the last ties I have to my mother's side of the family. So the watch has a lot of sentimental value to me.

Other. I wear watch whenever I travel overseas where the time difference is vastly different from where I reside. My phone doesnt allow comfortable function where I can check multiple time zones at same time.

I have to go with other. Yeah, my recent iPod has time-keeping skills, but so is my pocket watch. Hey, you didn't say what kind.

I used to, but not anymore.

I have to have big watches just to wear them since I couldn't wear most women's watches. Too small, and would pinch my wrist. I'm legit big boned, and would have to get either sports watches, or get a watch that you could add links on. I used to get these awesome leather cuff watches, but I stopped wearing them once they got in the way of work.

Now I don't wear them, and I use either my phone or the wall clock, if it's in my area, to keep track of the time.

I still do like the look of some watches, but they're not for me anymore.

I used to wear a watch all the time back when I went to school. Once I finished school I stopped wearing one because I didn't have to be anywhere really promptly so I didn't have to constantly be glancing at the time, and my cellphone was in my pocket whenever I needed to check it. Once I start work I'll probably start wearing a watch again.

I have a nice automatic tissot that my dad got me for my birthday when I was 15. A watch really completes the look of a man in a nice suit.

Pocket Watch because I'm a complete ahole.
Vintage/antique or modern?
The one that I carry is modern wind up, as some have said more a fashion choice, also my grand dad and dad both carry one it's just our thing I guess.

Yes, absolutely. I have too many appointments to keep during the day, working in a school also it's running on a tight schedule and I can't afford to not be on top of things. And pulling out my phone every 5 min. in front of everyone just makes me look like an obsessive tool.

On weekends though is another matter, if I do wear one it's only as a fashion piece, or for sports like running/biking (gps watch/heart monitor/lap timer purposes).

Yup, cheap digital watch from a dept store. I only wear it for work as the clock is behind me and it'd be weird to always be turning around to make sure I don't miss break times.

I use a watch. Mostly an aesthetic choice, as I do carry a phone, but I prefer using a watch to keep time. I'm old fashioned like that. I have two wrist watches. My "beater," a cheap ($20-$40 retail) Timex that I use for general wear, and a more expensive (But still inexpensive, ($80-$120)) old Seiko dress watch my dad gave me for my 18th birthday, for more formal occasions. Neither are vintage, but the Seiko was made around 1999, not quite vintage, but getting there. I think I have a "newer" pocket watch floating around somewhere, I remember picking one up at an estate sale. I think that pocket watch is vintage, but not by much, probably an 80's number. I almost forgot, one of my family heirlooms is a vintage Elgin pocket watch that once belonged to my grandfather. That watch was probably made sometime in the 30's or 40's, probably worth a good chunk of change. Honestly, I love to buy more vintage watches, but I'm one of those assholes who would love to buy more vintage everything.

Yes, it can greatly enhance your look. That was why I used them before, although I have actually used it more and more, it is quicker than to fish out your phone every time.

No why would I wear a watch? I've got a phone in my pocket that can give me the time as well as tell me if I'm overpaying on gum.

I certainly do! They look beautiful (and us gents get so little opportunity to accessorise), and they're convenient. Not to mention that I only got a mobile phone two years ago. Still prefer watches though. It's a question of style.

I've had a couple, mainly before cell phones and other means of telling time became available, but don't wear one.

Some do look pretty swanky, I'll admit. It's just redundant for me.

If I worked somewhere that didn't allow a phone on silent I'd wear a basic, no frills watch.

I used to until about three years ago, but I don't see the need for one any longer. I am never without at least some electronic device which can tell time, if I cannot easily find this in my surroundings.

Watches are inconvenient... they're either too loose and snag on things, or too tight and cause skin irritation.

Yes I wear a silver analogue Lorus although I don't wear it at home and I take it off when I'm working. It looks good on me and it's practical as well. I have a mobile as well, but that mobile might be shoved in a pocket or bag or the battery might be low...makes sense to have a watch.

I have my great-grandfather's 1937 Hamilton gold wristwatch. I've got a phone I use most of the time, but it's been in the family for four generations so I feel obligated to wear it. After all, how else can I show I'm a man of wealth and taste?
That sounds amazing. You have to figure out a way to photograph it and post it here!

Love to see the pocket watch too! I've got a buddy that swears by his, only loses 1/2 a minute a year or something.

I've been with you but am reading plenty of reasons in this thread to start up again. I love my phone, but, a flip of the wrist to see what time it is is easier than pulling out the phone. And others state it is a necessary accessory for the professional male. I'm trying to be one.
