I four watches, but never wear them. I have thin wrists, so most mens' watches usually just flop around on me. I also hate the feeling of a watch sliding down my arm if I raise it, even if it's only an inch or two. I dunno why.

I just use my phone:/

Yes. I use it to tell time. Why was that not an option in the poll? I need it makes it sound like it's where I hide cocaine, and habit sounds like it's just something you do, not something you use.

I used to, but when I started working I had to remove it. You don't want any obstructions when you have to stick your hand into moving machinery, so I started carrying a pocket watch & loved it. This was before everyone & their 5 year old had cell phones & once I got a good cell phone that I carried everywhere it kind of became my pocket watch.

Still like pocket watches, I kinda just collect them now.

My family bought me a great Batman watch about 3 or 4 years ago. It's really slick. Silver Batman symbol set in the center of the face.

I tried to wear it, but man do I hate watches. I used to wear one to work back in the 90s, but once cel phones came along and I had that digital timepiece on me at all times, I never wanted to strap on one of those useless hunks of metal and gears ever again.

I wear one for work because we don't have clocks in the labs and we are not allowed to have our phones on us. Outside work however, it depends if I remember to wear one.

I owned a few before the days of cell phones. Yes, I'm that old. The bands kept ripping hair out of my arms, so I stopped. Nobody needs a watch anymore.

My sister gave me a watch that I wore for a while, until the battery wore out and I never got around to replacing it as I got employment in a field where it's a really stupid idea to have relatively fragile things attached to your wrist.

I would rather have a pocket watch anyway. Why? Because why not? More novel than the cellphone I'm currently using to keep track of time.

Yes because it's quicker and I can't pull out my cell in the middle of lecture or at work to check the time. I also happen to like my watch, it was a gift and it looks nice. I liked it enough to get the battery changed even though it would cheaper to buy a new one because I couldn't find that particular watch again.

I've got a cheap steel Casio digital watch that has been going for 9 years without a battery change.

At work/home I always remove my watch as it's uncomfortable during computer use, but at all other times it's always on my wrist.
Taking out the phone just to check the time is to awkward (not to mention risky), especially since I bought a Note 4.

Nah, I just check my phone these days. Though I can see myself using one in certain situations. And I do have a pocket watch somewhere...I think.

Pocket watches are sorta self-defeating though, since you're having to pull something out of your pocket (or bag) it might as well be a phone :p

Wrist watches are great if your job involves moving around a bit, or you walk/cycle/etc a lot.

I remember back when I was in school, a wristwatch was almost essential to keep track of classes, break times, etc on the move. Couldn't live without one! The downside was that all my non-watch-wearing friends would keep pestering me for the time -_-

"How many mins till break over?"
"Hey what's the time?"
"What's the time dude?"

"IT'S TIME TO GET A WATCH!"

I have a large collection of different watches, but I don't usually wear them. I prefer to carry a pocket watch and wear a communications device on my wrist.

The mobile phone has usurped the wristwatch almost entirely.

The pocketwatch has had it's revenge.

I used to before I had my own phone, but now that I do, it's a little more convenient to just use that.

I used to have a '95 gshock until it ran out of battery, I tried to get casio to fix it but they can't or won't replace the battery. I got a new gshock last year and it sucks compared to the old one, The light on it is too bright, it doesn't remember when daylight saving is so I have to adjust the settings for it to be on the right time twice a year and to cap it all off it has world time function where you set your timezone and it'll figure out the time in all the other timezones on it... but it applies my daylight saving setting to all of them.

I have a smartphone but I still prefer to check the hour on my wristwatch.
Call me an idiot, but I quite like it as a fashion statement.
