So me and a couple of friends from here(Im not going to tell you their names) where joking that people here worship users with high post counts. (Yes Im well aware that not everyone does it I just need to know)

But why is that exactly? I keep hearing the reason is because high post count shows how long you've been here, which it doesnt really since I've been here longer than some of my friends I've met but they have a higher post count than me, it just shows you got more free time than others IMO.

And by high post I mean over... [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiMHTK15Pik]. As for me I dont worship anyone here who is considered a celebrity I dont care about how long a person has been here or post counts if a person is good I will befriend them, and no Im not calling out the famous people here I'd understand if you dont wanna post in this thread.

So is there some truth to high post worshiping or is there no such thing?

I worship myself, but for a totally different reason.

The post count doesn't show how long you've been here, the "Joined: xx xxx xxxx" does.

It's not how much you post, it's WHAT you post.

Haven't heard about this for a while, there isn't anyone that really stands out at the moment thankfully.

Currently I'd say there isn't any "high post worshipping", there certainly has been in the past however.

you should see my closet shrine to some of these guys... I even have hair samples and printed out every post dripping with divine awesome sauce and made them sticky from the ecstasy I get when reading them again and again.

I don't think anyone on here gets worshipped. People with higher post counts tend to be taken more seriously/get more replies etc., but that's not a conscious decision.

It's partly a logical conclusion that someone who's been around for 9000+ posts can't have made bad ones on average or they wouldn't have made it this far.

People used to worship them back in the days of MaxTheReaper, but it seemed to stop after he got banned... in no way linked, but back about that time.
Still, it seems some people still do...
No idea why they would, though...

No. If they got that far and evaded bans & suspensions though chances are they'll have a valid point but nothing to worship. Noone's opinion is worth more than others'.

I wouldn't say I worship anyone, but I'll be more likely to pay attention to someone if they have a high post count.
It's probably because I've seen them post in other threads, so it's nice to see the same outlook on different subjects.

I don't but I see a lot of people do 'round here.

I don't think post count states how long the person's been around. I have been here for a month and I have already the biggest cost pount I've seen without seeing someone else's!

I think the source of worshiping is from the new users. They see a high post count and think "Whoa, this person has a lot of post. They must very popular like a celebrity." Then again I'm just guessing here.

I personally don't do it. It just sounds silly to me. [sub]But I wouldn't mind people worshiping me...[/sub]

I don't worship them, but I think they're pretty cool people. I mean it takes determination to get your posts that high.

Considering how most moderation around here is pretty random and nonsensical, high post counts really just mean "doesn't really say anything anyone has any strong feelings about one way or another."
