Well with the free mods
cheaper games
tons of free flash games
rts/mmorpgs thatare actually any good
more flexible controls
better steam games
Finally and most impotantly, massive backwards compatability. Seriously I can play games from like 15 years ago which not a single console can boast(if anyone says the ps3, the backwards compatility is awful in my experience)

I build my own comps... cant do that for Console.

Some people build cars, others houses. I like to build my own computers. Being able to play with the next technology, intsall and get working with all your software is what makes PC gaming fun for me.

I am in the minority though.

I buy all my games through steam too. Makes it easy moving games from system to system. Not to mention the easy community access.

I can't vote on this poll because PC gamers have all kinds of fantastic exclusive games. So maybe you won't get a special edition MW2 or working hardvare copy of Arkham, but you have access to games that us lower-class console owners could only dream of. How about you get the best of both worlds and purchase an Xbox 360? That'll solve your (non-financial) problems.

PC gaming will come back once graphic cards/integrated graphics become powerful and standardized. Then it becomes why would I get a console? Especially if this gen last 5 or so more years with no new tech. People will see crysis 3 or some other game and be like holy crap my 360/ps3 sucks. Longevity is detrimental to console gaming IMO. With consoles already hitting their peak(barring a few new tricks here or there) PC gaming should go on the upswing again.

Why the hell do you want that, its just useless fluff. Dont over generalize PCs cos you want to play with your plastic props. Stop complaining.
Agreed. Seriously, what's the point of wasting money on special editions with ultra shiny boxes and crappy extras that don't enhance the gameplay one bit?

If anything not having these special eds for PCs are a blessing.

Probably, and I don't mind, seeing as I'm not good at upgrading my PC and all that, plus that it will cost me a hell of alot more even if the games are cheaper.

You're asking to get flamed with this thread. I don't even own a PC but I think PC's are great for creative minded gamers. Lots of indie games and mod communities make the PC gaming world fascinating and sometimes even better then consoles. I like reading about mods for say Oblivion or Fallout 3. I just hate PC fanboys like these guys.

But canadamus_prime makes a very good point.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's only a matter of time before the line that separates PC and console gaming disappears completely.
I think even current gen systems hold a lot in common with PC's. The PS3 supports any laptop hard drive along with Keyboard/Mouse.

I used to be a PC gamer exclusively but since every new PC game is a bug-riddled console port these days I gave up and bought a 360. At the moment I don't see much point in having a $2000 PC just to play poorly ported console games.

I love PCs but youd have to be a blind fanboy not to realise how many crap ports of console games PC gets now and most games are unplayable with bugs.

Consoles are getting all the goodies now, I know they pay for it but they are removing any incentive of being a PC gamer.

Everyone goes on about mods and all that rubbish but really 95% of games what mods do you need? Plus graphics, ok yeah its nice to have AA and AF on a high setting but id perfer to forgo that then have some bugs which crash the game or make it unplayable (Bioshock/Mass Effect/Fallout3)

The way I see it is the only exclusives that im looking forward to are SC2 and Diablo3(which may be going to console). I dont know if thats enough to make me want to lay out more cash on a more up to date rig. I see no reason on getting a uber-pc to play BatmanAA (or the latest multi plat release) with some more physics than the console version, im quite satisfied with the graphics and controls on console

Thats just my thoughts, I dont play MMO's anymore due to lack of time but im not playing that many games on my PC as I used to. I still play TF2, SC and DoTA quite often but if SC2 somehow doesnt live up to expectations then I dont see the point in anyone getting anything but some cheap computer which can play all these games comfortably.

for the modern warfare example i have to say infinity ward are idiots for refusing a prestige edition on pc. what is their reasoning behind this? stuff like nightvision goggles or metal casing is an extra incentive to buy pc games over pirating them. by refusing this they are making pc gamers feel shafted and thus (slightly) more likely to pirate the game.

as for the bugginess games are always more buggy on pc at first. they have alot of odd hardware combonations to deal with unlike consoles which are all the same. also, performance varies on different pc's where consoles do not.

for the xbox controller thing: some games are better on a gamepad, such as racing games, arcade style action games (sf4, batman: AA) if the games only need a couple of buttons you dont need a mouse and keyboard.

as for being unable to install a game: too bad, do a quick google search and it should solve the problem. the only game ive really had a problem installing is the witcher, and it required a copy protection patch from tages.

pc gamers do have problems with companies, but we have a very important thing consoles cant match: modding - new maps, campains, ways to play, skins, ect. its why companies dont make as many dlcs for pc as they do on xbox. pc gamers arent stupid enough to pay for it.

What I want to say has already been said.

PC has only been shafted LATELY witht the MW2 thing, a crap port of GTA4 and SR2. But among all that, we console still have the crap version of TF2, you guys got golden games like Counter Strike, superior versions of many games (L4D for example). Hmmm...too many Valve games.

It won't take long before the status quo is restored.

And as for why the MW2 special edition isn't on the PC, it's because alot of kids with money in their pocket with an X360 or PS3 will see the shiny box and go "ME WANT!" where as not alot of these idiots own a competent enough rig. Not to degrade anyone with a brain that actually is getting but you can see where I'm trying to get with this.

Honestly, if I wasn't as broke as I am, I would seriously consider moving over to a console, and I'm a firm beliver in PC supremacy. There are very few PC exclusives left and are mostly minor releases. On the other hand, most of the games I do look forward to also come out on consoles (for instance, Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2), and finally quite a few games that I would like to play DON'T come out on the PC. In fact, they come out on everything BUT the PC (Brutal Legend, I'm looking at you). The only thing PC has going for it are a few multiplayer FPS games and the MMO genre, neither of which are interesting to me.

PC gaming is getting shafted lately and will likely remain so for a long while. Shame, really...

There is a larger market on consoles, the consoles have far less piracy, anti-piracy measures cause more people to move to consoles, pc customers expect dlc for free after getting so accustomed to Valve policies.

The master race analogy is way off, a much more accurate representation would be two patients in a hospital. One is a child recovering from injuries but is annoying to be around while the other is swarming with disease but has an immume system that fights off every cure. Sure the doctor's can continue trying new treatments on the comatose patient while the child will thrash about any time a needle comes close, but the child only needs a quick lookover by the nurses and can get outside for some fresh air soon.

Look at a game like Arkham Asylum. I've actually been TOLD by various gaming blogs to not buy the PC version, something about, oh, I don't know, a bug that won't let you install the game, or play past a certain level.
You know, I read that same article, and you know what the "bug" that won't let you past the level is?

Creative DRM. If you downloaded it illegally, you get to that point and your cape doesn't work.

As for bugs or whatever, you ever heard of patches?

Asking if people give a damn about pc games on an internet gaming site, is like asking if people hate God at a priest convention in the Vatican, it's a risky move. Oh and just for the record, I do give a shit about pc gaming, nay! I give three and a half of 2 shits...about...pc, uh...
