Search bar approved... somehow.

So after reading the whole EA redwood thing I realized. EA is one of my favorite game companies now. These guys are showing creativity while Activision is pushing out sequel after sequel. I'm scared people. Liking a Faceless corporation is not a good thing but these are the guys who made dead space, bad company, mirrors edge, crysis, spore. While activision releases cod6, gh5 tried to kill brutal legend.

Am I the only one who thinks this giant is actually good now?

EDIT: Looked up... realized I was in the off topic forum. Im a noob apparently
I was thinking "Yes, yes, yes, yes, WHAT? FUCKINGBASTARDSBURNINHELL!", in case I didn't express it effectively, spore was a huge disappointment for me. Though actually so was mirrors edge, crysis warhead too sucked balls, though the original was pretty damn cool. And bad company didn't really interest me that much. I don't dislike EA, I don't think I dislike any company except maybe nintendo but even then thats only because of their failure in the face of creativity. (they just keep chucking the same old shit at the fan)

EA seems to make a good song list - sorry "EA Trax" in it's games. Otherwise most the good stuff they do is just done by the developers, and they just publish. Saying that, I only own five EA games, four of which are Burnouts, and the fifth is Desert Strike.

People always moan about sports games being "the same thing each year" but really, how much can you modify a sports game before you've removed elements of the sports you're trying to replicate? aside from refining the controls, and updating the stats, kits, and player info, and slight graphical polishes, there's not a lot you can do to a football game before it stops being a football game.

so they released mirror's edge and suddenly they're innovative?
It's a lot more innovative than the developers who release the same game over and over (war games for example)

Mirror's Edge WAS innovative. It was poorly executed (apparently. I liked it apart from the strange controls), but at least they were trying.

I like a lot of the titles they publish, but when it comes to customer service and technical support I really hate them.

Their getting better, thats for sure.

With great origional games like Dead Space, Mirror's Edge (don't look at me like that, I thought the game was pretty good), and now with Dante's Inferno and Brutal Legend.
Plus with DICE supporting dedicated servers for Bad Company 2, they have been pretty good.

But what really took me by suprise was the fact that they announced that Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2 would have no DRM.

Thats when I realized that they actually learned from their mistakes.

They make sports games. Which are the only game genre I have never liked a game from.
That doesn't seem like a valid excuse for all the hatred and bile EA has been the target of.
http://www.igtfy.com/?q=EA+games+limits+product+keys they are product key nazis and punish their customers in order to "stop piracy" along with lacing everything they have with buckets of DRM. theyre just really bad devs IMO i still hate them theyre still evil.
They're evil for wanting to gain a profit off their product?
you get 5 uses of your key not unlimited thats not trying to make a profit thats punishing the customer. they do the wrong thing with drm and punish their customer instead of pirates. they are a BAD company. and their defense that you only get 5 key uses? oh well you can always buy an entirely new key for the full price.
That sounds like a good idea. I mean, why would you un-install a game anyway?
New operating system. got bored and uninstalled but later wanted to play again. more than one computer, computer crashed or you had to clear your hard drive for any other reason. there are MANY reasons you would reinstall. putting a limit of 5 keys is a stupid thing they do to "fight pirates" which just like their layers upon layers of drm on all of their games. comes back and hurts the customers worse.(especially since pirates simply use keygens)
Oh, and keep in mind that people who pirated the games never have to deal with any of these problems, rendering the entire thing useless and a giant waste of money.
