I bought one when they first came out and I still love it, much better than an iwhatever IMO. My only fear is that I have no idea what to replace it with when it finally dies.
They're comparing dedicated music players. Your iPod touch also blows the crap out of an iPhone; hardware priority in the latter is given to systems other than the DAC and amp.Zipa said:I have always used an Apple device, iPhone or iPod, their sound quality through the headphones is far superior to any other portable MP3 player I have owned. They sound the same in my experience. I used to have a iPhone 4 and there is no change in quality to my iPod which is the same generation as the phone. Only real difference between the two was the phone was not as thin likely because it has the hardware to ring people.llafnwod said:They're comparing dedicated music players. I find that the number of good dedicated music players has been dwindling in the past few years. I hope that ipod is not the only music player in the future.SageRuffin said:I have an old Zune 80 and Zune 120. I enjoyed them quite a bit until the software started acting wonky (it got pretty fickle with what songs it could find and subsequently play).
Now I'm constantly stalking the Consumer Reports website trying to see what's a good alternative that is not an Apple product of some kind.
There is supposed to be the Pono coming out at some point which is supposed to be far better quality than MP3/MP4.Sebastian Rios said:I find that the number of good dedicated music players has been dwindling in the past few years. Creative makes pretty decent stuff that is fairly priced. Its what I've been using for years and they can even take a beating. Mind you the largest I've gotten is the 8Gb since I never needed any more than that but my older brother has had his 32Gb for 8 years and it still works great.major_chaos said:I bought one when they first came out and I still love it, much better than an iwhatever IMO. Not kidding, that was my progression of music players. Once I got tired of the iPod, I did a search for good music players. The Creative Zen Vision M blew me away until it started acting funny (locked up all the time, the scroll decided when and if it would work). Then I looked up the Zune.SilkySkyKitten said:I used to have a Zune HD myself. I actually really liked the little thing and thought it was a pretty underrated device that never really got the attention it deserved.
... then about six months ago it got stolen. Soooo I'm back to my nearly 10 year old Creative Zen Vision:M, which despite its age is holding out pretty well.
My transition from Zune was to the Samsung Galaxy player. It's really a smart phone that doesn't make calls. But don't let that throw you. Even the standard earbuds that come with it make fantastic sound.SageRuffin said:I have an old Zune 80 and Zune 120.
