People care for their own personal reasons, if they stay within the confines of the law there is nothing wrong with that, but is some cases the law may be wrong (the jim crow laws, I personally see as wrong but, mind you I'm in U.S.A. and I'm hiding behind the "right to free speech").

I could always be wrong so feel free to tell me how wrong I am on this post, good topic though. I hope no one flames or trolls though.

As long as they don't flirt with me, or walk around in assless chaps, it's really not my business.

Tell that man in the pink shirt that he is awesome.
And while you're at it, kick that old guy in the balls.

I'm not homophobic at all, especially after several friends of mine came out of the closet to me. Also, I have been in the same room as two kissing guys, which is a bit unnerving, but you get used to it.

As for homophobia, I consider it an escape from one's sexual insecurities. I know well and truly that I am straight, and I don't consider homosexuality to be weird in the slightest.

And as for anyone that says that homosexuality is a choice, how do you know?

Well I don't think EVERYONE should be gay, because, y'know, that would wipe us out
but as far as the fact that some people are gay? I don't care, that's like asking if someone likes a different musical group to you.

Some people do. Mainly my friend, kyle.

I myself have some gay friends and used to have a bisexual girlfriend.

I've been told I'm Stalinist, but here goes:

Like the Right to Free Speech*, the Right to Free Thinking would work better if it was somehow "moderated". In this case, anyone who dislikes all gay persons (for whatever personal reasons) is muuuuch more prone to "suddenly" or even "accidentally" comitting hate crime. What if it's a judge for a sports event, or even in a court?

*(I swear, I was gonna mention that concept before I saw you mentioned it in your post :p )

I'm slightly homophobic. If I can tell someone is gay, I get scared, but if I have to be told that they are gay, I'm fine with it. So basically only the really flambouent ones scare me.

I don't care. Know people who do though. People are people in my book. Do what you like, just don't harm others.

I care if people are gay because dating and crushing on straight chicks sucks the big one.

Until we stop asking each other these questions, it'll never be "okay" to be anything. Do it and be happy, because at the end of the day, they're the ones with the problem, the ones that lose sleep over it and get angry. Damn them and their britches to soddery.

And if we were all "gay" or whatever we are calling "someone being happy and comfortable in themselves" these days, we wouldn't necessarily die out, "Sperm Donor" would just become a job title, and they would get a weekly wage.

I personally couldn't care what you might call yourself or what group you place yourself in, none of us were put here to judge.

I'm gay, so my opinion is a bit biased here.

To respond to those who answered, "As long as they stay away from me..." I really want to know what you mean by this. I obviously can't literally keep a 100 foot distance between myself and every heterosexual person in the world.

I assume some people meant it as, "As long as they don't flirt with me." In that case, we aren't talking about gay people; we're talking about annoying people. The majority of gay people will not go around hitting on people who they know are straight, so if this actually comes up, just tell them you're straight and leave it at that.

In the case of you not liking gay people who are overtly flamboyant, why not say you just don't like overtly flamboyant guys? I even hate extremely flamboyant people.

Not really. But of course you'll always have those crazy people who think its wrong for some reason or another. But I could care less if a person is gay/straight/bi.

I feel a bit uncomfortable around gay guys, but that's because I have the bad luck to only run into very annoying out of the closet gay guys. Uncomfortableness does not apply over the internet.

Some people hate people with either strong personality quricks or generalized doucheyness on the part of the "hater".

In other words people are still human... do they care as much as they use to no...

Ugh I hate feeling like I have to be extremely careful with what I say and how I say it but here goes. I think there is alot of missconceptions about homosexuality that come from both those who support it and those who are against it. I was raised and taught that homosexuality was wrong and that I should stay away from it. When I was younger I interpretted that as meaning "gays are are bad. Stay away from them or they might rape you."

After being in a non-sheltered environment, I know that gays are not the worst kind of people in the world. I have a few gay friends (that I'm aware of mind you) and I've had some great times with them. But when I make friendships I don't want every conversation we have to be about their homosexuality. That gets really annoying.

Now, while I might not have a favorable view of homosexuality, I am NOT going to call someone out on it. I feel that not condeming someone for a particular way of life speaks more than constantly telling some how wrong it is. I do NOT want to be forced to believe that it is ok or that it is wrong. Do not make me believe in what you believe in.

But I think that if you feel strongly in favor of homosexuality there are times and places that you are not going to want to say anything about it. Where you live is a strong factor in how vocal you are going to be about it. For example, I live in a place where homosexuality is looked down upon. During my highschool years, half of everyone I know thought I was gay even though I am not. Now, my reaction to that was (and would still be) to try and explain to others that I am not gay. Since, gays are looked down upon where I live I really don't want to be assosciated as one. If however, I lived in a place where homosexuality was highly accepted than I wouldn't worry about it so much. I just think that if you're to vocal about something in a particular place you're just going to stir up heep of trouble.

However, I've never understood why some people think that "God hates queers" or "Homosexuals are the worst kind of people". I mean, out of everything a person can do, why would something that homosexuality be the worst? I would think people would say, "Murderers are the worst kind of people" but whatever.
