i understand. im going to compare this to a situation ill probably get in trouble for, but i smoke weed. and i have friends who smoke. and i absolutely hate it when they try to force people to do that. now, ive met people who tried to "convert" people to being gay, but i dont believe its forceful.Chipperz said:I chose no way, but I feel the need to clarify.
So long as it doesn't adversely effect other people, I don't give a flying fart what people do with their lives. Being gay, becoming addicted to rollercoasters, Furryism, juggling chainsaws, whatever, I don't care. What bothers me is the "infective" pursuits that people seem to insist on forcing me to like. Metallica, Religion, Vegitarianism... All examples of things that will all get pushed as the ONLY WAY TO LIVE. Do it yourself with buddies that like it, and I'll support you, but tell me I shouldn't be eating my third pig of the week and words will be had...
Why would it vary by gender? I'm curious. I mean, maybe it does, but I've experienced just as many female bigots as I have male bigots.Xyogen said:I have a feeling that this question will vary by gender... i just want to know. Does anyone really care anymore?
as a female, i notice that males have more of a tendency to be homophobic... im not being judgemental, and i never said it was a bad thing, i just think its more likely that a guy would be. i think it may be a masculinity thing.CuddlyCombine said:Why would it vary by gender? And no, no rational person should care if someone's gay. It can be a personality trait, sure, but it's not a disease or justification to make all homosexuals pariahs.
I'd agree with you, actually. Males are much more aggressive and feel the need to spout homophobic feelings if they feel that'll get them somewhere. Well, most of them are. This is all one huge generalization.Xyogen said:as a female, i notice that males have more of a tendency to be homophobic... im not being judgemental, and i never said it was a bad thing, i just think its more likely that a guy would be. i think it may be a masculinity thing.
