Poll: Does anyone remember the first time they ever played doom

I remember coming home from school and my dad had set 2 computers up back to back and was holding a Registered edition of "Doom: Thy Flesh Consumed". I think that was the happiest memory of my life.

Im still playing doom now, i have it on steam as well as original Crystal case edition.

Good old Doom.
All I can remember from my first time playing it was my jaw hitting the floor - the graphics were beyond my wildest dreams, the gameplay went from balls out action to suspenseful and creepy.

Oh, and the lighting in that game! Flickering lights ramped the fear factor up to 11.

Doom is easily one of the best games I've ever played. Easy to pick up and play and difficult to put back down again - even in this day and age.

Doom was great on my PS1. I would have been about 17 and could not put it down. I think I got bored eventually on about level 30 or so when I got stuck in a pit and couldn't get out and was under pressure from the satan guys who launched green goo at you. My save was at that point too which was arse!

EDIT: I did like Redneck Rampage though.

All is forgiven for loving that unrated classic, i assume then you also played Shadow Warrior?

If you didnt love doom back when it was new, id imagine it would be hard to love it now.

Iv tried to tell my fellow gamer freinds how amazing it is, and even tried to get my 5 year old cousin on the doom wagon, but neither seemed interested.

I still remember the cheat for LAN games, where you can see the other persons position on the map.

Maybe, I played a lot of games back then.

I don't seem to recall though...

It was a 3d Realms Game. Duke with a ninja twist.

It was an exciting time for pc gamers, console as well i guess, but ill never turn my back on my Pc years...
