Ofcourse I remember it. I was maybe around 5 and was scared to hell. I still play it from time to time and think the gameplay is better, faster and more fun than pretty much anything that's produced today.

I still remember the opening music from 'Simon the sorcerer 2'

i got it as ring tone in the end...

Oh my God, Simon the Socerer, I used to play those games religiously. The 3D ones are so fail though... Keep it 2D people!

OMG, i bought simon the sorcerer 3d in pound land, thought i was going to die of excitment..then i played it. What a waste of a pound. the end of STS 2 was just classic, its up there with the end of Monkey island 2. Unforgettable.

StS 1 + 2 kicked so much ass. I really don't know why noone remembers them because I absolutely loved them. The ending of 2 has got to be the most frustrating and annoying cliffhanger ever, such a good game! Graphics kicked ass too. Intro of the second and the sound effects are just classic.

Played Doom 2 first, great game.
Though i think i played quake 2 alot more, tended too go with what my cousin had at the time as my PC consisted of a crappy version of DOS with the only decent game being CIV1.

Dos 'Crappy'. I loved dos, i felt like a real pro pc user, being 6 years old and being able to create folders, deltree files and install games like carmageddon (pre-ban). That game took over an hour to install in dos. OOOOoooOooh and commander keen...F**king Stuff Of Legends!

i'm not sure what the need for the poll is, but yeah i remember. i played through it again once i got the doom 3 special edition and it's still just as awesome as it was in the first place.

While I liked Doom's setting more, Duke 3D is easily the better game.

I played Doom for the first time just 3 or 4 weeks ago. I didnt really get into gaming until I got a Gamecube way back in I think 2002 or whenever it came out. Thanks to that there are alot of old big name titles. I havent gotten to play Half Life or Half Life 2 yet.

One of my earliest memories is playing the shareware version over my grandparents' house when I was... well I suppose anywhere above 4 as I was born in 1989 - my mum was concerned over the violence although it really didn't register with me at the time what I was *actually* doing... eventually got some sort of DooM + DooM 2 set when the second came out I guess but couldn't tell you when that was.

I still play both of them as well as Wolfenstein 3D to this day, mostly on my PSP.

I loved Doom. I still like it better than Duke, but they are both awesome. I played Doom for a lot longer than Duke though.

Yeah, My friends and I one night found it on Xbox live.

We pretty much played it the rest of the night without any breaks, so it got repetitive after a few hours

(Yes I didn't play the original doom until just then....)
