I just want to clarify that I'm mostly talking about the Christopher Nolan Batman series, but I'm open to debate over any Batman series. If you are talking about other Batman series please clarify.

It could be good, but they probably wouldn't do it right.
It could be dark, but they probably would just screw that up.
I fear Robin's inclusion after what they did in the last series of Batman movies.

fuck, I'm the only one who voted batgirl... at the time I voted.

No, Batman needs bat-girl because everyone is sex crazed nowadays, if batman has a dog as his new sidekick people will ask "are they fucking?" (not really, but you know they would with Robin) so it might as well be an adult female human as a sidekick for now and get rid of the awkwardness.
She's like 14 and there's implications that they fucked in Batman Beyond! Batman does not need the Commissioner Gordon's jailbait running around!
Don't worry, the Joker will fix that!

Oh wait, no more Joker... shit. Who's going to paralyze her?
I'll give you a hint; she's sexy & has green skin.

Eh, definitely not gonna happen, as Christian Bale and Chris Nolan don't want Robin in the project, and the fantards will rage if it's not "their" Robin out of....who was it now? Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd...it would end up being a bit too much of a clusterfuck. Just look at how the fandom reacted towards Robin in the Teen Titans animated series (even when in one episode was pretty much confirmed that it was Dick Grayson).

So really, ignore Robin. Put him in the Justice League movie, maybe. But Chris Nolan's Batman series doesn't need a Robin.

Well I think they could do Batgirl as a rival vigilante and maybe make another paraell with the bat fanatics in the Dark Knight, but I think if robin is done well he can make the story darker. But I don't like Robin that much I perfer Nightwing, a lighter less insane version of batman, or better yet when batman and Nightwing team up...kick assary.

I think Robid is great, especially the one who turns into Nightwing (I forget his name) but in the current Batman narrative it's a little too dark and gritty to allow room for his development. Honestly, Batman is one of the least interesting characters in the recent movies because of the darkness of the tone and how straight and serious he always has to be, so Robin would be a welcome addition to the cast, but...he just wouldn't fit. :\

Let's see if MovieBob's still so enthusiastic once they cast Shia LaDouche as Robin and what's-her-name from Twilight as Batgirl.

Kristen Stewart is a great actress, but she couldn't pull off that role.....Barbra Gordon is a redhead. And just to show you how much I hate Twilight: I once tried to watch New Moon with my cousin. I flipped off the screen for 3 minutes, then I had a heart attack. I left to watch old Zero Punctuation videos. LeBouf should have never left Disney. The chick who played his sister was hot though.

I think it could work well if done right. I mean lets make Robin a watson to Batman's Holmes, yeah that could work, he doesn't have to be an obnoxious whiny teen, he could be a guy who lost his family and is going down the wrong path so Batman decides to mentor him. He could be another reflection of the Batman.

Batman isanything but crazy, to be honest.

But hey, why can't Robin work?
He doesn't have to be the goofy boy wonder, look at how Batman has evolved across the ages.
Actually, batman is certifiably insane, and many of the comic writers of recent years have stressed this. Its also part of his relationship with the Joker: the Joker is really just Batman with a different focus (Batman is focused on absolute Justice, while the Joker is... well, Joker).

And WHICH Robin would you recommend, OP? There's been several, all with different personalities.
I'd like to see the pre-ressurected Jason Todd Robin. He'd fit into the movies because he was very undiciplined and violent. Plus he gets beaten to near death with a crow bar and blown up!

Robin was awesome. Those who hate Robin probably missed out on the Dixon Nightwing comics, the Robin comic series, and Teen Titans.

Hate the people who failed at portraying the character properly, don't hate the character himself. In my opinion, someone like Robin (who isn't a sociopath) offers a level of depth to the Batman universe. Plus, you can actually identify with Robin where it isn't really possible with Bats. I mean, I've never felt anything Batman did or said was something I could see myself doing or saying. His refusal to kill and use firearms, for example, paints him as a massive idiot. If only because jails are powerless to actually hold criminals in the Batman universe, anyway.
