Not exactly, being racist depends mainly how you were raised to believe things, when the time comes where you are judged for believing what you were raised to believe is a shock and it makes them think that they are the lying ones, they are the misunderstood ones, so no they are not necessarily bad people.

A bad person? Not necessarily, but probably someone I'd definitly have to have a talk with afterward. But more often then not yeah, racism is almost always a source of sickening human behavior.

Hmmm...Well, I certainly wouldn't call them out on it. I mean, damn, this guy sounds like an awesome friend and hes really helped me out a lot. I wish I had a friend like this. Friends of this magnitude are almost impossible to come by nowadays.

No, I wouldn't stop being his buddy, nor would I look at him any differently. I might ask him why he feels that way about those people, but I can't say that I haven't felt the same way about other "races". There is a reason stereotypes exist.

And...no, they aren't a bad person.

you know honestly i dont think it does. i think it depends on how you take out that rascism. if you just randomly hate them with no supporting reason and will not like any person of that race no matter how great they are then yes it makes you a bad person. if you are open minded enough to judge individuals by personality rather than race then you can probably pull off good person. Despite what anyone says we can not be rational all the time. We all have things we hate for little or no reason.
i dont like the french and armenians. because no offense to anyone of that race i havent yet met an armenian person or a french person that hasnt pissed me off. if i meet some that dont i will most likely change my opinion. its just that i meat alot of dickich armeniens.

Being racist doesn't make you a bad person, it just takes a bad person to be racist.

I wouldnt say evil. Ignorant, Backwards and Stupid maby. But your average racist Munt Conkey isnt evil, atleast not until they start supporting "organsied racisim" like the BNP over here.

Personaly I cant stand it if one of my friends makes a racist joke. Ill confront him or her right on the spot:
"do you know how offencive that remark was?"
"It was a joke"
"Hitler wasnt joking"
...that tends to shut them up.

Being racist doesn't make you a bad person, acting racist does. One can't help it if they think a certain way, but you can control what you actually do and thats what makes the difference.

...but, of course! I'm racist, and I'm a very bad person.

But in all seriousness, there are times when we encounter a stereotype (ie someone dressed like a thug) and immediately think, "holy shit on a shingle! That guy's a thug!" This applies to any race. I wouldn't suspect someone wearing a suit of being in gang, unless he looked menacing, in which case, he's probably part of a syndicate.

Looks are everything.

However, this also applies in reverse: you can look harmless and innocent, but you could also be dangerous.

I said yes... but the reality is that is makes them bad in this circumstance.
Somebody needs to tell them to harden the fuck up and realise they are no different from anyone else.

I think we need to know what it means to be a racist. It doesn't mean to simply talk badly of a specific race. That's called racial bigotry.

It means to have a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

Having said that, I don't think that a racial bigot is a "Bad person" if it is limited to just idle comments. Many good people are just simply ill-informed or have their opinions colored by one or more past experiences.

If they are generally a good person then I wouldn't call them 'bad'...
But I don't think I would be at all comfortable around them from then on. I'd have to find out why they had a problem with race and if it was a stupid reason, I'd probably just stop talking to them altogether, honestly.
I mean, it's all good giving to charity and doing good, but if you were the kind of person who would immediately stop giving if you knew the person was a different colour then that conditional help just makes them, I guess, ignorant. And stupid.

Does that make 90% of Australia bad people? Seriously, all white Australians don't like Aboriginals, don't say you do, I know you don't, unless you live in Canberra and have never seen an Aboriginal person. I will admit to being a little racist myself (I've never met an aboriginal person that I've liked, except for about 3, one of which is my friend, who is also racist against his own race)

as the play Avenue Q(the play from which the popular song "the internet is for porn") puts it in the title of one of thier songs. "Everyones a little bit racist" and I'll admit that I am. I mean, I acidentally bumped into a black girl one day a little while back and a she got all haughty and angry at me acting like I just insulted her and I walked a way thinking she was such an annoying N-word and then went on to laugh about it with my black friend. So case in point I don't think Im a person I just irked every now and again by people of other races just as frequently as I get irritated with white people

Everyone's a little bit racist sometimes. Doesn't mean we go around committing hate crimes. Look around and you will find no one's really color blind. Maybe it's a fact we all should face, everyone makes judgments based on race.

Now not big judgments, like who to hire or who to buy a newspaper from - just little judgments like thinking that McDonald's cashiers should learn to speak goddamn English!

Everyone's a little bit racist today. So, everyone's a little bit racist, Okay! Ethnic jokes might be uncouth, but you laugh because they're based on truth. Don't take them as Personal attacks - everyone enjoys them so relax!

Excellent point. I learned racism against Aborigines due to living near them. The ones I have seen are abusive towards their children. On several occasions I have been assaulted by Aboriginals. Is it racist for me to have an immediate distrust of them?

No, it just means that the said person is ignorant of the fact that everyone, regardless of color, is pretty much born equal.
Going around the obvious differences like body fat, DNA, and other factors beside skin color that make us different, we are all the same on the inside. Over 600 muscles, tens of thousands of miles of blood vessels, 206 bones, the hundreds of millions neurons firing away(although there are those who don't use them properly) and so on and so forth. Heck, when I was in anatomy, the cadavers looked the same. Only differences were body type(height, weight, facial structure, etc).

It depends on the context. I mean from a personal stand point, I don't find Asian or Dark skinned people to be attractive, and that's just a matter of opinion. That's not being racist, I have heaps of friends who are both, and of very mixed social and cultural backgrounds, I'm just giving a valid opinion of a matter of personal choices in appearance.
If on the other hand your friend was actually being slanderous and abusive about the person in question without any sort of judgement or basis of argument then that IS rascism, and rascism is never ok. Give me a more solid sense of context and I'll give you a more solid opinion.
