I just want to know if you think that other Final Fantasy game's (after 7 and 8) deserve to be ported to the PC. With taking advatages of PC like graphic and controls.

There's no need for porting, you have things called emulators. Hell, i can emulate FF1 on my 5-6 years old phone.

Emulators have run the FF series on the computers for years.

on another note, they did release FF7 for the pc. It just performed horribly. I think that's the last attempt they made at that.

OT: I had both FF7 and Resident Evil 2 on the PC, hated them both. They were much better for console.

It's not really the same.

I would enjoy playing several of the games on PC natively instead of having to use emulators.

They should, but Japan hates the PC. They'd rather port it to phones. Mobile gaming is apparently HUGE there.

Yea, emulators all the way, hell, FFX and FFXII look BETTER with the emulators because you can custom configure settings, and they all run beautifully, but that comes down to your CPU aswell. Controllers are really needed though, but you can pick up the wired Xbox ones for nothing these days, they work fine.

Sure, if they did it right. A menu system like those could really benefit from a mouse input.

I think once you hit a point emulators become the best way to play a game, any controller can be used, AF and AA/resolution can be applied as well as new texture packs.
Save states for the win

i would love to see a pc port if the games were as they were back in 7 and 8 and 10 but due to the recent shiteness of the series on top of the fact that it would probably be done really craply i dont think it should

No. Nothing deserves a PC port- nothing is bad enough to warrant the horrendous optimisation or control fuckery or every other problem lazy ports always have.

Remember, it's not like they are planning to make any real money off it- the reason most of these games weren't released on PC was the whole piracy thing (Which is becoming less relevant now, what with console piracy being a plausible option, but whatever.)

I mean, I guess it CAN be done well- Assassin's Creed worked sorta ok, or, at least, was still about as fun- but for every good port, there's like this many bad ones.

So, I guess I'll actually change that answer to yes, but for fucks sake, play the goddamn thing first.

If you stop using the term deserve like there was some prestige in it, sure why not.

... how? The only difference is not having to scroll.
Generally, how good a UI is, is defined by how few buttons you have to push to complete a given task.

Ok, maybe it is just me, but Final Fantasy games just seem wrong with a keyboard and mouse. I fail to see how it is an "advantage". Even when I had FF7 on PC I still played it with a 360 controller.

I thought FF7 on the PC was quite good but I never finished due to having advanced graphics on one computer and not having Media player on another.

OT: Well some FF games after 7 and 8 are already on the PC. The one they recently released for example, FFXIV, and apparently its not that good. Also the other MMO FF was on PC also. the only ones I don't think are on the PC are IX, X, XII and XIII.

Weird wording there. Do games now how to "deserve" to appear on PCs?

Also, don't see the point. My guess is all JRPG fans most definitely own consoles. One ported series won't change that much.
