I'm the same as some others who aren't zombified fans of the original movies. As in I am open to a remake if it turns out good, even if I haven't seen the original. That's one thing I take into account that "Original Fans" don't. They don't give the film a chance by itself, they always compare to the original. It becomes more enjoyable (something films, in general, are meant for) if you pretend the original didn't exist and look at a film as the "original" and stop comparing. Same thing goes for adaptions, pretend the film is an original piece not based on previously existing material, you might enjoy it for once.
Although sometimes the remake on its own is still S*** and then I just say F*** ALL, and go back to severing peoples limbs in any number of M-Rated games.
The Eragon film still fills my rage meter faster than any number of internet trolls combined.
