I personally like the piont system better. Maybe i'm just nitpicking but visually to me having 10,000 points looks better then being level whatever. meh It's not a bad system though.

There really is little difference.
Although admittedly, I do strive to Platinum games, theres a better sense of acheivement than on the 360.

I do hoard trophies though, coming up to my 900th trophy :)
Strangely though, I dont play as much as people would think that I do.

no it doesn't work as far as getting me to get all the trophies. Neither did the achievement thing though. I always felt that either trophies or achievements were a dumb idea, although it is pretty impressive when people have some crazy achievement or a particularly difficult platinum. Most of the time though it's not impressive at all just lame people that play lame games for points.

Not only does it make people feel the need to replay games, it gives certain games goals that may not have had them before. For instance, there isn't much to do in Rock Band, other than play with friends. Trophies have now given me a reason to play the 7 hour Endless Setlist. Without pausing. Or failing. 'Nuff said.

I don't own a 360, but I have a PS3, so I can only talk about trophies.
I personally don't mind them, but they don't motivate me. Except I looked at a friend's trophy completion %, and it was a lot higher than mine. So I tried to raise mine... that lasted a few hours then I got bored.
I did play all the way through Ep2(PC) to try to get as many as possible. But I forgot to carry the gnome... has any here got that achiement?
