(Please check your inner fanboy at the door)
As a former PS3 owner and a Xbox 360 owner (since launch) Ive constantly heard that the majority of players on Xbox live are simply assholes who would rather yell racist and discriminating remarks then look at you.
I figured that "came with the territory and curse of anonymity".
The curse Im referring to put it simply is that with a gamertag your virtually anonymous and can be anything you want to be, For alot of people you get to take out your stress on the mass's and in short be a asshole.
But I think I've stumbled onto something. Why would Xbox live hold that exclusive-ness? Since when does the Curse of Anonymity care what you play on?
Look at any place that has anonymity on the internet, and how many people act out of character.
What is it about Xbox live that supposedly attracts more assholes then not?
In my opinion, nothing more then the rest.
After watching some reviews of comparisons between PSN and Xbox live I realized that its simply easier to communicate with people on XBL then PSN, Wii or PC games.
And more often then not games (MW2 being a good example) put you in situations where your either unable to avoid communicating with strangers or its simply not a option.
Which leads to the inevitable shit tossing competitions and reputation that XBL is mis-known for.
So in conclusion I think that with Anonymity and gamertags, people will be assholes, no matter what game they play or what system they play on. Its just easier to see it on XBL since its online service makes it easier and unfortunately harder to avoid communicating.
Anybody else think this?
